Federal COVID-19 Relief

As we await President Trump's signature, there are a couple things you should do now.

  • Contact your business bank to see if they will participate in the second round of PPP

  • Contact your accountant and start preparing the documents you will need for your application

State COVID-19 Relief
This week, Gov. Ned Lamont announced a new federally-funded grant program that will target $35 million to restaurants and bars, as well as food service, retail, lodging, entertainment and recreation businesses.

The grants, funded by the federal CARES Act, will range from $10,000 to $30,000 each, distributed to between 1,500 and 2,000 small and mid-size businesses that have been particularly hard-hit during the pandemic.

Please note, there is NO application for this grant. The checks will be automatically sent out by December 31, 2020. We do not know who will receive this grant at this time.

The City of Milford will offer assistance to Milford businesses through the Community Development Block Grant - Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CDBG-CV). A business owner may be eligible for funds in the form of a reimbursement for expenses incurred after March 27, 2020 directly related to planning, preparing and/or responding to the economic impact of the coronavirus. The program seeks to strengthen and enhance small businesses, while benefiting employment opportunity for low- and moderate-income households. Applications will be reviewed based on overall need and eligibility of the business.
