Take Action on Early Care and Education Funding Now
Dear Advocates,

Week three of the special session is at a close, and we have an exciting update from the Ready Louisiana Coalition: the Senate Finance Committee has still not scheduled a vote on HB 1. This means we still have time to contact Senators and make the case for early care and education.

ACTION: Please contact members of the Senate Finance Committee as soon as possible to tell them why the state needs to invest $25.1 million into early care and education, focusing on the 4,000 children of essential workers who will lose access once block grants from the CARES Act are exhausted. Supporting materials for your outreach are linked below.

Outreach will be more impactful if it comes from individuals who have existing relationships with members of Senate Finance; individuals who are constituents from their area; or it is personalized.

Thank you for fighting with United Way for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in our community. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
