October 25th
Current events have prompted "thinking outside the box." With the cancellation of Lord's Acre 2020, our wonderful Trustees and Church Council have given their blessing to a series of "Modified Lord's Acre Bake Sales for Missions" to take place Sunday, October 25th. We know you've been honing those baking skills during the last six months and/or need a break from your own cooking! WE NEED YOUR PARTICIPATION...BOTH BY BAKING AND BY PURCHASING...FOR SUCCESS.
The Covid-19 rules are:
- The display table will be unattended.
- Items must be appropriately wrapped (i.e., Saran, Foil, Press&Seal, Zip-lock bags, etc.). It is suggested you identify items with your name to inspire sales. If there is any specific characteristic of your item, list that as well, or if it contains peanuts.
- Items must be pre-priced. If you are in doubt, compare your item against your favorite restaurant or bake shop comparable items. For example: Dixie House Cafe's pies are $25.00.
- A container will be on the display table for checks (please mark "Bake Sale") or exact cash transactions only since no attendant will be on duty to make change.
- Please bring your items to church as early as possible when you come to worship in order for ALL SERVICES to have access to the sale: 9:00 Parking Lot, 10:00 Sunday School, and 11:00 in-person worship.

Drive Through Trunk or Treat
|
Wednesday, October 28, 6-7:30pm
Volunteering time: 5pm-8pm (dinner provided)
This years trunk or treat will be a Covid-19 safe event. We will have a drive through event that is for our community to let everyone know that we care about their children. We are trying to make this event something that helps children feel as normal as possible.
We need about 20 volunteers to help guide traffic and be runners between stations. This year we are asking only for monetary donations; this way church staff are the only people touching items to be handed out.

Bob Bull Winter Coat Drive

Bob Bull was a strong voice in our community for the least, the last, and the lost. He started the coat drive to provide warm jackets and coats to those in need and we continue annually, in his honor. Please place clean, gently used coats in the bin marked COAT DRIVE, located in the church Narthex. We will donate the coats to local homeless shelters.

Focus on Health Blood Drive
|
Saturday, November 14th, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Blood donors are very special people and costs nothing to give yet is more valuable than any other resource on earth. Our next blood drive is happening soon and you are invited to give the gift of life.
All donations are used locally and a donation bus provided by Carter Blood Care will be located in the parking lot in the back of the church. Safety protocols will be strictly adhered and they will see only three donors at a time. Plus, to combat the decline in supply, Carter Blood Care is offering free COVID-19 antibody testing for people who donate blood.
You can sign up on-line to schedule a time at the link located on the Focus on Health Facebook page in the Blood Drive Event. If you prefer to sign up manually, there is a sign-up sheet at the Connection Center. If you have any questions contact Joy Moore. Please consider making a lifesaving donation!
C'mon! We know you've got it in you!

As we move into virtual worship and other gatherings for the foreseeable future, now is a great time to connect with online giving to ensure that the ministries and outreach of the church are not interrupted.
There are two basic ways to give electronically, and both are quick and simple.
- The best option is to give via a direct transfer from your checking account. This is fee-free for you and the church. Simply fill out the accompanying ACH form and send it in to the church office along with a voided check. You can mail it to Aledo UMC, PO Box 126, Aledo, TX 76008.
-
Or you can text "aledoumc" to 77977. This will connect you to a service called PushPay, which will allow you to give electronically to the church using either a credit card or debit card. You will receive a text back with instructions guiding you through setting up your gift. You can give either a one-time gift or set up weekly or monthly giving through PushPay.
