DIG IN HANWELL

An unused green space waiting to be loved by the Community

Cultivate London are campaigning to be one of the lucky groups of the Mayor - Sadiq Khan’s MAKE London recovery funding programme. As part of this they have to run a campaign on Spacehive (link above) showing public support and pledges for the project.  A pledge can be as little as £1 and it is the number of pledges they receive that will help towards their success.

It has been a tough year for everyone, but Cultivate London truly believe we need to preserve our green spaces. They have become even more important as a result of Coronavirus.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support
Boosting Community Business London Programme

The deadlines for the light-touch Track 1 applications have been extended to 12th March.

This is a new pilot programme delivered in partnership with Power to Change and Co-operatives UK. It’s designed to: a) support local groups to set up and grow a community business, which are profit generating organisations, run by and trading for the benefit of local people, and b) support new and existing community businesses looking to expand operations or secure assets through community shares – a form of equity investment.

Two digital workshops were delivered earlier this year explaining what community businesses are, and the benefits of operating in this way. For more information, check them out here:

Fuller’s at Home launches Sunday Roasts

Get the great taste of a Fuller’s pub roast in the comfort of your own lockdown dining room

Fuller’s, the premium pubs and hotels business, is bringing the delicious taste of the great British pub roast to homes across England this Mother’s Day with the Fuller’s at Home Sunday Roast. Whoever you are cooking for this Mother’s Day – the Fuller’s at Home box, complete with a cook-a-long video from Celebrity Chef and restaurateur Brian Turner, takes the pain out of providing the perfect roast chicken dinner.

Each box provides a full three-course treat for families, starting with Fuller’s London Porter smoked salmon from the Severn & Wye smokery complete with sourdough bread and a dressing of cold soft-boiled eggs, capers, gherkins, herbs and mayonnaise. The star attraction is a stunning whole roasted lemon and thyme chicken, all ready to be just popped in the oven. As you would expect from any good Fuller’s pub roast, the meal is completed with roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, apricot and chestnut stuffing, minted peas, braised red cabbage, cauliflower cheese, honey and thyme baked carrots and, of course, Yorkshire puddings and lashings of gravy. To complete the meal, diners will enjoy a fabulous pudding of Paul’s warm chocolate brownie with cream. Each box also comes with a complementary bottle of English sparkling wine from Laverstoke Park Farm – one of Fuller’s favourite suppliers – for the Mum in your life.

The box, which costs £120 for four people or £155 for six, comes complete with fool-proof instructions and the whole meal is prepared and ready to just be heated and served. From culinary experts to kitchen virgins, everyone will be able to treat their Mums and their families to a first-class pub roast – it’s the closest thing to actually being back in the pub.

Fuller’s director of food (and the man behind its famous chocolate brownie), Paul Dickinson, said: “There is nothing better than enjoying a fantastic Sunday roast in a great Fuller’s pub. But as that’s just not feasible at the moment, we are offering the next best thing – the chance to recreate that experience in your own home.

“We’ve taken the best ingredients from our traditional Sunday roast menu and we’ve taken all the hard work out of preparing a Mother’s Day feast. Instead of spending hours and hours in the kitchen, the Fuller’s at Home Sunday Roast comes beautifully prepared for even the most inexperienced of cooks to deliver a beautiful banquet.”
