A Message from the Principal...
|
|
Dear St. Louis Families,
President's Holiday Weekend is here with a very needed break to enjoy time with families and friends! Our week began with the 100th day of school and special recognition of our Science Fair winners who will now represent St. Louis in April at the diocesan fair. We are especially grateful for the parents and parishioners who shared their time and talent judging the projects. Next week is a short one due to the Monday holiday, but it will not be without important time set aside for continued work on our virtue, Cheerfulness, as it relates to our interactions with one another. Mr. Peace will be visiting the students on Wednesday to help motivate and inspire them to share their smile and good cheer with one another as they continue to find the goodness in all things. And, particularly appropriate,
Random Acts of Kindness Week
falls next week so our teachers and Counseling team have been busy planning activities to encourage our students to show kindness in simple and meaningful ways. I am grateful to Mrs. Cotnoir for her work with our students because kindness is not just something that happens in one week, and she does a great job of helping our students understand what kindness means throughout the year.
What won’t be random next week is holding a code red drill - Code Red is our signal for lock down within the classroom in case of an emergency onsite. The drill will be held one day next week, and we will prepare the students beforehand so that they are part of the process. Being safe is always a priority at St. Louis.
The Silent Auction is coming, Saturday, February 22nd and the auction team has been working hard to organize a fantastic night of fun in addition to fundraising for the PTO! If you can’t be there, you can join in spirit by taking a chance on the road trip through the auction raffle. If every family sells just 3 raffle tickets, the school could earn an additional $26,000 that we could use for school improvement needs!
Wishing you a very happy Valentine's Day and a lovely long weekend!
Peace,
Anne M. Dyke
