President's Message
null
What makes our chapter so vibrant? You.   Thank you for your membership and support for AIA Rochester. Our chapter is blessed with active members that roll up their sleeves and get involved. This has made AIA Rochester a chapter that is respected statewide.
Our Centennial year provided opportunities for engagement within our chapter and community.   I definitely felt the excitement and energy that was generated, and I look forward to continuing the momentum this year. Thank you Jason Streb, AIA for your leadership and fearlessness, and each person that participated in our events! It was a joy to be a part of it.
What is next?
Architecture 101 - Relationships / Involvement / Growth
Building on the energy that is present, I look forward to developing the following:
  • Increase membership by providing events and programs that are enriching
  • Provide equity in our profession
  • Grow member involvement/participation
  • Empower the next generation to consider architecture as a profession
  • Participation with municipalities and non-for profits to foster stronger more sustainable communities
  • Align our chapter with AIA National on the Climate Change initiative
This year we have a new home at the renovated Warner Castle, a historical landmark in Highland Park.   This provides us with office and conference space, and a direct partnership with the Landmark Society of Western New York.
I am honored to serve as your President this year. Let's Roll!

Jennifer Takatch, AIA

Well, by now, for those of you who know me well, and for those of you who do not, I have always and quite fervently believed in the importance of setting achievable personal and professional goals.
