The event, organized by the Membership Networking Committee and held at the Legend at Bergamont in Oregon, WI, raised money for the RASCW Cindy Strange Pay it Forward Award, which goes to the recipient's charity of choice. National Association of REALTORS® President, Charlie Oppler, recently provided his thoughts in an op-ed (read here) on the decision made by the DOJ regarding its proposed settlement with NAR, the benefits of our existing MLS system, and how the DOJ decision could have a major impact on real estate and the accessibility of homeownership.

August is NAR Sustainability Month! As REALTORS® and real estate affiliates, RASCW members have a unique position from which to observe and advocate for issues of business, land, and housing sustainability within our communities and industry. The National Association of REALTORS®'s Sustainability Program, created in 2017, aims to be a leader in the strategy, education, and action surrounding sustainability initiatives within or connected to real estate. The recent CDC renewal of the eviction moratorium will continue to have a direct and significant impact on property managers, housing providers, and the real estate industry. NAR has consistently advocated for increased availability of rental assistance programs to help address the very real financial struggles many tenants are experiencing due to the pandemic, and has succeeded in helping secure more than $50 billion in federal rental assistance funding.
