Speaking of yearbooks, did you miss out on a chance to buy a yearbook last year in 2021? Or maybe you'd love a dose of nostalgia from 2007? Or 2003? The yearbook staff is looking to clear some storage space and has a limited number of extra yearbook copies from a handful of past years. If you are interested in purchasing one at an extremely discounted price, please reach out to Sarah Koons (skoons@cvsd.net).

Spring Recess
Reminder: Spring Break CVSD will be closed starting Thursday, April 14th through Monday, April 18, 2022.

Dominic Dipofi Named March Student of the Month
CVHS junior Dominic Dipofi has been named Student of the Month. Dominic was nominated by the teachers and staff of CVHS. Dominic’s teachers said, “Dom is an outstanding person and student. His performance in my AP US History class is one of the greatest I have ever seen on the academic front, but more importantly, he is a good person and a true pleasure to have in class.” Outside of school Dominic is involved in Spanish Club, Class of 2023 Social Committee, and is a new inductee into the National Honor Society, as well as a member of the Math Honor Society. Dominic is the head programmer of the school Robotics team, 4991 Horsepower, and has been a member since the summer before his freshman year. He enjoys outdoor time, fishing, hunting, and helping with yard work at his home and camp. In the future he plans on going into the engineering field. Dominic will be recognized through the Rotary Club along with students from neighboring schools. We are very proud of Dominic for representing CVHS in the community!

Updated CDC Mask Guidance
On Friday, February 25, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) issued updated guidance regarding COVID-19 Community Prevention. Masks will continue to be optional for anyone at Chartiers Valley School District. Furthermore, according to this latest update, masks are no longer required on CVSD buses and vans.

At this time, other forms of mitigation will remain in place, and the Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) guidelines regarding COVID-19 remain in effect. Please use this form to notify the District that your student has been exposed, has symptoms, or has tested positive for COVID-19. Rather than emailing various staff members, completing this form will allow us to streamline communication directly to the school nurse and be more efficient in our response. All submissions are confidential. For your convenience, this form is also available on the District website under "one clicks" and on the COVID-19 page.

Remote Learning Guide
As we enter the winter season, we may have to shift to remote learning and want to ensure that everyone is prepared for the structure. Click here for a REMOTE LEARNING GUIDE.

Have a great week!
Sincerely,

Mr. Patrick Myers, Principal
Mr. Tim Murray, Assistant Principal
Ms. Meghan Watelet, Assistant Principal

From the Nurse
Please be sure to review the COVID-19 Updates page on the District website, which includes answers to a list of FAQs.

The COVID-19 case count dashboard is updated daily around 4:00 pm and is always available for viewing on the District website.

From the Cafeteria
This school year our Food Service Department is experiencing some supply chain issues with numerous menu items for both breakfast and lunch. Some popular items are on backorder with no known restock date at this time. Please be aware that we are adjusting the menus when we are informed of any out of stock items and we are giving students other options to choose from during meal service. We ask for your patience during this time, we are doing the best we can with what products we are able to order. Please contact me if you have any questions and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Chartiers Valley School District is offering FREE breakfast and FREE lunch to every student, every school day. More information.

We are also offering an a la carte snack menu this year for students who wish to pack their lunch and buy snacks.

From the Athletic Office
Click here to view the flyer for events season tickets. This pass is good for all contests for the 2021-2022 school year. Student tickets will also be sold for $3 per contest at home games.

Please remember that students younger than high school age must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of all District events and athletic competitions. This includes Friday night football games.
