Waiting
God of wisdom and strength, we await you. Like David, we await your prophetic guidance and the peace you promise. Like Mary, we await the liberation of all people and the fullness of your kingdom. Do not keep us waiting. Deliver us from hatred, ignorance, and apathy. Bring us your justice and your healing. Give us your wisdom, compassion, and courage. Show us your light. We await you, for you alone can save us. Come quickly, Lord! Do not delay. We await you. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear Parishioners:
I’m sure I’ve mentioned along the way that over the past year or two I’ve been taking on-line courses with the Institute for School and Parish Development and its leader, Frank Donaldson. Frank has a couple of decades of teaching and administration behind him, and his courses are quite insightful for school principals and leadership as they wrestle with issues involving fund-raising, enrollment management, and development. We just concluded an eight-session course entitled “Annual Giving Drive” in which Frank brought in some of his students from years past to share their successes and strategies related to Annual Funds. Very interesting.
He concluded the course with a prayer he’d composed for this year of the pandemic. I’d like to share it with you: READ FR. PHIL'S FULL MESSAGE

SJB Advent Giving Project
|
|
Thank you SO much for each person and family who has contributed to the SJB Advent Giving this year. A reminder that we are supporting Habitat for Humanity and Kitti and her family monetarily (add your dollars to the wooden mangers) and the Sheboygan County Food Bank (SCFB) with non-perishable food items. This will be the last weekend that we formally collect non-perishable food items for SCFB.
If you would like to give financially to either SCFB or Habitat for Humanity after this weekend, you can do so online through the end of the year. Let’s make this final Advent weekend an explosion of generosity!
Let’s love our neighbor in word and deed, offering a truly merry Christmas to all!

|
More ways to get involved
coming soon!
In January, the SJB parish family will continue to support Kitti and Habitat for Humanity in several different ways.
- The SJB Grab n Go team will make meals once a month in conjunction with the scheduled Grab n Go meal, for the volunteers helping build.
- The SJB Mission Quilters are busy creating housewarming quilts for Kitti, Deja, and Blade.
- There will be a “Sign-A-Stud” fundraiser the weekends of January 2-3 and 9-10.
- SJB will have ‘Build Days’ one Saturday a month starting in January through the finishing of the home.

"Bust the Deficit" Campaign Update
|
|
Bust the Deficit
We have made a dent in the budget deficit thanks to you, our donors. As of Dec. 11th, we have donations totaling $62,884 or 10% of our projected annual deficit of $628,800. If you haven’t already donated, would you consider investing in our parish and school? Donations of any size to any fund make a REAL difference.
Blessings during this Advent and Christmas season!

A Message from the School Principal, Mrs. Amy Nelson
|
|
There isn't anything as joyful as seeing and hearing children light up with excitement as Christmas draws closer! The school hallways and classrooms are filled with reminders that the magic of Christmas is upon us. For the past several weeks, I have enjoyed listening to the students share their "Elf on the Shelf" stories, and have enjoyed looking at their long lists for Santa, as well as, marveled at their understanding of the true meaning of Christmas.
On behalf of the entire St. John the Baptist School Staff,
we wish you a very Merry Christmas!
