You're Invited to a Virtual Holiday Tree Lighting!
One of Moreno Valley's most popular events is the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. It will happen this year in a virtual way with the Mayor and City Council doing the honors remotely. The tree-lighting can be seen Saturday, Dec, 4, at 6 p.m. on the City's Facebook and YouTube accounts and on cable channel MV3. In case you miss the event, a video will be available on demand on Facebook and YouTube.
Fire Stations Accepting "Spark of Love"
Toy Drive Donations
Firefighters are dedicated to preventing tragedy -- and that includes the tragedy of a child having no present to open this holiday season. So, again this year, the Moreno Valley Fire Department is sponsoring the Spark of Love Toy Drive and asking for your help to make sure every child has a happy holiday.

Please bring new, unwrapped toys or sports equipment to any MoVal fire station by December 14. Our firefighters and Santa will make sure the presents get to children who otherwise might have nothing -- and you may find that your generosity makes this holiday season your merriest ever!

Mayor and City Council Offer Holiday Wishes
The holiday season is a time of celebration and tradition for many beliefs and cultures. We welcome them all in Moreno Valley, and together they help create the beautiful mosaic of our community. In recognition of our wonderful diversity, Mayor Gutierrez and the City Council offer their holiday greetings in this brief video.
Public Works Crews Clean Up Litter,
Prevent Flooding
MoVal's Public Works crews make a point to clean up litter and weeds wherever they happen to be working. Sometimes, clearing litter, vegetation and other debris is the job at hand, such as removing it all from this drainage channel along Redlands Blvd. These workers' efforts will prevent flooding this winter.

Amazingly, crews removed approximately 640 tons of debris and trash last year from roadsides, channels, storm drain inlets, and through street sweeping.

A Visit to: El Potrero Park
El Potrero Park, located at 16901 Lasselle St., may be one of the biggest parks in town that you've never heard of. At 15 acres, El Potrero is a City gem, featuring plenty of room to tire out even the most energetic kids. The park offers a fun play structure, fitness equipment, four multi-use athletic fields, a soccer field, barbecues, picnic tables and picnic shelters, restrooms, convenient off-street parking and security lighting. El Potrero is definitely worth a visit! Learn about El Potrero Park and all of Moreno Valley's beautiful parks online!
