This is just a friendly reminder to those of you who like to make preserves, pickles, potpourri, baked goods, vinegars and and other items from the garden. Harvest time is here and the Pantry table at the fair is in need of goodies to sell. As you go about your preserving, please remember us and make a couple or so jars for us. FAMILY PROMISE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!
We urgently need more Family Promise volunteers!
Your commitment of just 3 to 8 hours twice a year would be a tremendous help!
Our partner Church, Missio Dei, is unable to continue their participation in Family Promise in 2020. They have been covering 3 out of 7 nights each week that we host.
Woodfords needs more volunteer resources in order to meet our Family Promise hosting commitment. We especially need volunteers to be on-site with the families in the evenings and overnight. Cooks to prepare and deliver dinner are also needed.
Host weeks in 2020 begin on January 5, March 15, August 23 and November 8.
If you are interested in becoming trained as a volunteer (only on-site volunteers are required to be trained), please attend the next volunteer training on
Saturday November 16 (
NOTE THE DATE/TIME CHANGE
)
9am-noon
Hope GateWay, 509 Forest Avenue
No need to register in advance.
Please contact me if you do attend or would like to become involved, or have questions.

CHRISTMAS FLOWERS - A SUGGESTION FOR CHANGE
Friends,
The Christmas season is rapidly approaching. The flower committee is wanting to try something a little different this year. The thought of using the theme Holly and Ivy is what we want to pursue. However, input is needed. There will be the usual poinsettias --- but fewer, if this works. We would like to mix the poinsettias with ivy plants, Christmas cactus, and possibly amaryllis. The cost for the ivy is $5 per 4" pot, cactus $10, amaryllis $11 and poinsettias $11.
What do you think? Please give us your thoughts by calling Jean Koster at 772-0228. Please feel free to use the answering machine. We'll be setting up the order forms in a couple of weeks. Thank you for your help!
Decking the Halls!
