The NMBC mourns the passing of Mayor David N. Dinkins the 106th Mayor of New York City and the first African American Mayor. Mayor David N. Dinkins was an advocate for Minority Business Development citywide and he was an advocate and trailblazer in many different fields. Of course, he was a lover of playing tennis and supporting tennis development for youths. I had the pleasure of serving on Mayor Dinkins Minority Business Committee, when he was mayor.
