Sacred Clay
God our Father,
you are the faithful potter. You never abandon the work of your hands. When evil shatters us,
take us into your hands again.
Pick up the broken pieces of our lives.
Smooth our jagged edges.
Seal the fractures that weaken us. As you fashion and refashion us, mold us into people who are steady and strong.
Fill us with your many spiritual gifts.
Make us unbreakable vessels of holiness that will gleam forever in the light of your kingdom. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Dear Parishioners:
Welcome to Advent, 2020, and Happy New Church Year! This year, the Gospel will generally be taken from the story of Jesus’ public ministry as it is presented by the Evangelist Mark. Since Mark is the shortest of the Gospels – there are only four parables in all of Mark, and two of them are really, really brief – we will also be treated to a 5-week excursus through the “Bread of Life” discourse in the 6th chapter of the Gospel of John. First, though, a word about Advent and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Christmas Giving Project
November 28 - December 21
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and School wants to make local and thoughtful connections through our Advent giving. This year our SJB faith family is partnering with the Sheboygan County Food Bank (SCFB) and Habitat for Humanity Faith Build project in Plymouth. We are collecting non-perishable foods for the SCFB and monies for Habitat for Humanity starting the weekend of November 28. At the church entrance, there will be white boxes for non-perishable foods and wooden mangers for monetary donations. Together, with our local community, we hope to help ensure this Christmas is truly blessed and joyful for everyone we call a neighbor. Give Online

A Message from the School Principal, Mrs. Amy Nelson
|
|
|
Student Council at SJB School - Newly elected Student Council Officers have begun to plan fun and educational activities for our school family to participate in. Recently, Student Council members organized "Seven Days of Gratitude" for students and Staff to participate in. The seven themes of gratitude that were focused in on were: school, faith, diversity, teamwork, friends & family, comfort, and food. Being part of Student Council is a wonderful way for students to work with the students and staff on various initiatives that benefit the school, organize activities like dances, follow our mission of serving others by organizing community service projects and fundraising movements, and holding assemblies that cultivate school spirit. I look forward to a network of opportunities seeing leadership skills being built and opportunities for the students to learn the value of teamwork.
