• A Forever Home for Shelbi •
Shelbi was just two when she entered the foster care system. Having five biological sons and adopting a 6th, the Zink family was excited to welcome this precious girl into their home.

Seven months later, an aunt in another state was identified who could care for Shelbi and the Zink family said a tearful goodbye to her as their foster child. Months later, Shelbi's aunt realized caring for her niece in addition to her own children was more than she could manage. The Zink family was more than happy to adopt Shelbi and couldn't wait to meet her at the airport and welcome her home.

More foster and adoptive families are needed in Arizona. Please visit our website to get information or look into the process of fostering or adopting with Child Crisis Arizona.
The Zink family celebrated Shelbi's adoption in June. Shelbi Zink sits near a sign that says "Wanted, Chosen, Loved" on her adoption day.
Congrats, graduates!
The program will now serve an additional 60 vulnerable children through onsite and in-home services.

Low-income families, identified through census tracks and neighborhoods, benefit from high-quality programming and the support to help locate resources in the community.
Child Crisis Arizona adopts Independent Living program for foster youth (ages 16-21)
We are pleased to share we have adopted an Independent Living Program for foster youth, formerly run by UMOM. This program extends Child Crisis Arizona's continuum of care to children ages 0-21 in the foster care system.

The program provides a stepping stone for up to 50 youth to learn life skills and practice typical apartment living. These youth have chosen to stay in the foster care system until age 21 to transition to adulthood with the guidance of caring staff.
Joseph, age 19, a resident of the program shared “If no one ever was in your life to teach you the things that are important as an adult, there are definitely people here that will take the time and patiently teach you these things and teach you how to be an adult. They give me the space to figure myself out too.”
