Volunteer Highlight

One common theme throughout the non-profit world is that volunteers get as much out of helping the families as the families get from the volunteers. This could not be truer for one of FPACs most dedicated volunteers.

Eduardo's first experience volunteering was with FPAC and he started like most of our volunteers; donating food, hygiene products and his time. However, he took it a step further and started collecting furniture, appliances, and supplies for families graduating from our shelter program. Working with FPAC's Family Advocate, Crystal, Eduardo was able to help families furnish their new house so that it felt like a home. He made sure they got what they needed.

His compassion did not stop there. As he engaged with families Eduardo's perspective of homelessness and his own life shifted. He continues relationships with families to this day, staying connected, sharing dinners, and helping where he can. Eduardo said that he has "a lot of joy knowing that [his] contribution would help families".
