Food for Thought is a monthly, members-only e-newsletter from the Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST).
PRESIDENTIAL FODDER
I write this message from an Airbnb location on Lake Echo in Nova Scotia (voluntary 14-day self-isolation) before taking a little vacation time to visit my daughter in Halifax. Being “forced” to take a break reminds me how easy it is to forget to refresh and recharge by taking some downtime. With fall upon us, it’s a good time to pause and spend time outdoors to soak up the autumnal sun, fresh air and enjoy the beautiful fall foliage.

For CIFST, the summer was busy and business as usual. Coming off our successful, weekly “Table Talk” webinar series (with our partner Food in Canada), we have been working hard preparing for our Virtual Supplier Showcase. The response has been tremendous, and I want to thank our Sponsors and Exhibitors for their support.
If you are an industry supplier and haven’t already registered, I encourage you to support CIFST Coast to Coast: A Virtual Showcase. This unique event takes place on Wednesday, October 28 from 11 am to 4:00 pm EST. We have kept the booth cost low and attendee registration is FREE. The experience includes two keynote speakers and will be one to remember. Check your inbox for more information or visit our website.
