NOV 2019

In collaboration with Telfair Museum, GPB Education is thrilled to announce the launch of the Slavery and Freedom Virtual Learning Journey. This engaging exploration delves into the complexities of slavery and freedom in antebellum Savannah through the lens of the Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters. Students can learn about the connections between the institution of slavery and the global economy and discover how one city can teach us about society and culture before the Civil War.

Native American Heritage Month honors the indigenous people living in the United States before the arrival of the Europeans. In November, the United States honors and celebrates the customs and legacy of Native Americans.

Use this collection to introduce students to their cultures and traditions, as well as Native Americans' continued contributions.

Discovery Education and Polar Bears International are again teaming up to present students and teachers with a no-cost Virtual Field Trip to the Arctic Tundra.  Through the magic of technology, participants will be transported to the shores of the Hudson Bay in Churchill, Canada, to witness the annual polar bear migration, investigate the Arctic habitat, and explore the lives and careers of the people that work and live in the polar region.
