OPWDD Division of Quality Improvement hosting IRMA webinar on December 18
On December 18, 10 a.m., DQI will host the webinar "COVID-19 Reporting and Entry into the Incident Report and Management Application (IRMA)."
This will be a “soup to nuts” overview of COVID-19 reporting and IRMA entry.

This ADM sets consistent terminology, along with definitions and factors to consider when planning, documenting and delivering the necessary Levels of Supervision to individuals receiving services.

CP State offering online session on I/DD and isolation
Isolation and segregation continue to impede to the full participation of individuals with disabilities and their families in the communities in which they live. CP State will offer “Addressing Loneliness and Social Isolation: The Key to a Better Life” on Thursday, December 17, from 2:30-4 p.m. Presented by Dr. Al Condeluci, this session will look at social isolation in the I/DD community. This is the first of a series of sessions that CP will be offering through its DDPC Rural Advocacy Grant. Western, Northern NY seeing surges in COVID numbers
Governor Cuomo issued a press release this afternoon providing an overview of New York’s COVID-19 tracking data from Wednesday, December 9. Yesterday, 92 New Yorkers died due to COVID-19 in New York State, bringing the total to 27,498. The Governor broke down fatalities by county, with Erie County leading with 16.

DreamStreet Theatre performance available online
DreamStreet Theatre Company's December 9 showcase is now available to view on their YouTube channel. DreamStreet has been providing performance opportunities to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for more than 20 years and quickly pivoted to remote, video programming offerings during the pandemic.

Starbucks offering free coffee to health care workers and first responders for month of December
In response to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases and to recognize the significant efforts of the front-line responder and health care community, Starbucks is offering a free tall brewed coffee (hot or iced) to front-line responders at participating U.S. Starbucks stores throughout the month of December to show appreciation for those keeping our communities safe during COVID-19.
From Starbucks.com: Those eligible for the offer include anyone who identifies as a front-line responder, such as: doctors, nurses, public health workers, pharmacists, dispatchers, fire fighters, paramedics, EMTs, law enforcement officers, dentists and dental hygienists, mental health workers (therapist, psychologist, social worker, counselor, etc.), hospital staff such as janitor/housekeeping/security, military on active duty, contact tracers, vaccine and pharmaceutical researchers, pilots, flight attendants, TSA, and medical researchers.

CP Affiliates integral in NYDA COVID-19 Data Project
CP State Affiliates have been collaborating with New York Disability Advocates (NYDA) and Syracuse University on an ongoing project to collect and analyze weekly COVID-19 data from voluntary I/DD providers. This data helps inform our understanding of the risks of COVID-19 for people with I/DD, strengthen our pandemic response, and support our advocacy efforts.
