This week we celebrate Christmas, Hanukah and Kwanzaa - all within a few days of each other. Last night, as our family decorated a Christmas tree, I realized, again, that this season also celebrates memories; mostly of family but, also, of friends and times long past. It is a special time.
As you might expect, there isn't a lot of news happening. So, instead, I wrote
four articles for us to reflect on, when we take a few minutes to think about work.
The first is an article on configuring the
new 2019 Mac Pro for video editing. This powerful system provides literally hundreds of options - and it requires a totally different way of thinking about configuring a computer. I enjoyed writing this piece and look forward to your comments.
Next, I have a
book review of "The Filmmaker's Handbook." Written by
Steven Ascher with
Edward Pincus, this massive volume starts in a place most other production-oriented books don't. It is an interesting read - take a look at my review and share your thoughts, as well.
Then, I have two
Final Cut Pro X tutorials - one on Library backups and the other on deleting plug-ins.
For you
Premiere fans, I had a great deal of fun a week ago training a group of talented editors on the finer points of Premiere Pro. That training resulted in lots and LOTS of shortcuts and tips. But, instead of turning them into articles this week, I've added them as tips to "
TheInsideTips.com." The secret to finding them is to visit the website, scroll all the way to the bottom and click "Adobe Premiere Pro CC" in the Tip Categories column of the page footer. There, you'll find
11 PAGES of Premiere tips!
And, if you haven't joined "
TheInsideTips" yet, you are missing dozens of tips on a variety of media subjects each week.
Subscriptions are free and a new
Tip Letter is sent every business day. Here's the
sign-up link.
May these holidays be a celebration with friends and family, with many joyful memories. I wish you and your family a happy, healthy and memorable holiday.
