Greetings!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thank you so much for your very generous response to our Christmas catalog and Giving Tuesday! It gives us great joy to distribute your gifts to children and their families who are the most vulnerable.

We hope you enjoy reading this month's newsletter knowing that it's because of God's love demonstrated through your giving that makes these stories possible.

Until the last one years,

The Promise Child Girl's Home -
Celebrating Christmas
The Promise Children in South East Asia had an exciting Christmas. Last November, they participated in a Christmas Market at their church where there were different vendors selling their products as well as some delicious food. The Promise girls with the guidance from Manju and Surendra had been preparing for this day from a few weeks before making cards, beaded earrings and growing plants in small pots to sell at the market. The girls loved making the cards and jewelry and enjoyed selling them at the Christmas market. Some of the cards and jewelry were even sold out before the market. Their stall looked beautiful and they sold all the cards and some of the jewelry and plants too. With the money they made from the sales they were able to purchase tickets for ‘Frozen 2’ and had some momos (like pot stickers) afterwards. How fun!

They celebrated Christmas eve decorating ginger bread cookies and of course loved eating them afterwards. For Christmas day, the girls participated in dramas and performed a song & dance at their church. Their new year started with learning to make pizza! They were so excited and enjoyed their first ever pizza made at home. The girls are so creative and talented. It is a joy to see them enjoying life and sharing their love for Christ through their skills and talents.

Little Wings - Before & After
The Little Wings came to us several years ago with little hope of survival. They were begging on the streets for food and were practically immobile because of their severe physical handicaps. Now, because of your love and support, they are healthy and excelling in school. Their family members and community are overwhelmed by the growth and success of these precious children.
Because of their hard work and positive attitudes, all three of these girls have been promoted to the next grade.
Operation Mourning to Gladness -
Showing God's Love in Tangible ways
Because of your support for Camp Bidi Bidi (refugee camp in South Sudan), we have been able to reach so many different groups of people within the camp including the pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, malnourished children, widows and widowers, the elderly, those with HIV/AIDS, and handicapped. The gospel is shared, houses are built for the elderly, food and baby clothes are provided for mothers and babies, and wheelchairs are made for the crippled.
Magrete is blind. She received a new house, a mattress, a blanket, bed sheet, and mosquito net. She was very happy because she had never slept on a mattress before. Magrete praised God that people who had never met her were helping her.
Samson is the listening group leader in the Imvipi Refugee camp. He contracted polio at the age of six and was no longer able to walk. Now that he has received a wheelchair, he can get to church easily and visit his friends.
It was very difficult for Joan and Elias to go to church and school because of their handicap. They were only able to walk on their knees before receiving the gift of wheelchairs. They both said they had never before received such a blessing.
Taban Simon is a listening group leader in the Bolomon Refugee camp. It was very difficult for him to attend church until he received a wheelchair.
Mary (in the middle) is 26 years old and HIV positive. She thought her life was finished because she wasn't able to take the ARV medication without proper food. After the gospel was shared with her, she gave her life to Jesus and her hopelessness was replaced with joy.
She was blessed with food to boost her immunity, a mattress, a blanket, bed sheets and a mosquito net.
This mother was so happy to receive food and clothes for her baby. She had no clothes, soap for bathing, or even a wash basin. She was so shocked that some one she had never seen bought all these things for the baby and even food for her. Pastor Bosco told her that this was God providing and we love because He first loved us.

We have exciting news, Promise Child was featured on John Ankerberg's show focusing on God's working in the Bidi Bidi Refugee Camp in Northern Uganda and our partnership with Faith Comes By Hearing!! This episode is titled: God’s Word to the World - Series 4 - Part 3. Please take a few minutes to watch this powerful video and hear some wonderful updates from the field.
