Weekly Health Update & Summary

For the week of 3/29/22-4/4/22, zero students tested positive for COVID-19.

Uniform Update Coming Soon

The Uniform Committee has been hard at work, updating the school uniform policy and setting up ordering with our vendors. Our updated uniform policy will be shared the first week of May. New for 2022-2023: Polos and outerwear will be available from USports! 

Cafeteria Volunteers Needed

As we approach the Holy Week, we know the end of the school year looms before us. Please consider your calendar and availability for the reminder of the year. Can you share a day or 2 with us? We are still in need of help on Thursday, April 7th, Monday, April 11th and many days after spring break. Please click here to sign up!

Book Fair Is This Week

Guardian Angels is pleased to sponsor an in-person Scholastic Book Fair this week in the library.

Book Fair dates: Now through April 8th in the Library

Shopping hours: During school hours: each class will be assigned their own shopping time. Lunch time open shopping hours are back!

8th Grade Fundraiser

Our 8th grade class is teaming up with the Anderson Township Pub this week. Tomorrow (Thursday, April 7th) ATP will donate a portion of the sales to our 8th grade class. No flyer is needed, just mention GA when you order.

After School Sewing Class

We are partnering with Enriching Kidz, a local organization that offers after school programs, to bring the class Stitch and Sew Kidz to our 2nd and 3rd graders! 

Dates: Tuesdays, April 26 and May 3 (both dates needed to complete the class)

This class will focus on the basics of sewing and take place from 2:45-4:45pm in the library.

Boy Scouts Fundraiser

Forget cooking dinner, grab Raising Canes instead on April 27th! Raising Canes is holding a fundraiser for the GA Boy Scouts Troop 445 from 3:00-8:00pm on April 27th. You just need to mention GA Troop 445 when ordering and 15% of proceeds from sales during that time will be donated back to our scouts.

Playground Hours

As the weather begins to warm up, we want to remind everyone of the hours of operation for our new playground equipment. The portion of the new playground that was installed in the fall sits outside the area where our old equipment sat. Since it is outside the mulch area and is now closer to other property lines, the portion of the equipment with the slide CANNOT be used outside of the posted playground operating hours. Those hours are 8:00am-6:00pm. 

School Supply Kits Available To Order For Next Year

School Supply Boxes for Grades 1-8 are now available to order online. They will be delivered at school before the start of the 2022-2023 school year. Please remember when ordering to choose your child's grade for the 22-23 school year, NOT the current grade. Click here to order your child's supply kit.

Preschool and kindergarten families will get information from their teachers about their supplies.

Football Registration Is Open

Registration for the GA football program is now open! The Guardian Angels Football Program Welcomes ALL active parishioners, CCD, school students of GA in kindergarten through 8th grade to the 2022 football season. Registration is open through April. For more information, click here.  

Golf Outing Is May 27th

The Boosters are hosting its annual golf outing on Friday, May 27th at California Golf Course. All of the proceeds benefit the Guardian Angels Youth Sports Programs. More information is attached. Registration is available on the Boosters' website.

Fathers Team Meeting This Friday

Join the GA Fathers Team this Friday, April 8th, at 6:05am for a great topic,

Family Dynamics when some are Non-believers. We need to prepare ourselves for many types of discussions with a non-believer or a person of a different faith tradition. Conversations don’t necessarily need to get heated; in fact, charitably and gently sharing our faith is the best way to lead others into being receptive to the Holy Spirit. After all, it is the Holy Spirit who converts hardened hearts, not us! Join us for this discussion in person in the Undercroft (Conference Room B), or by Zoom, this Friday at 6:05 am. Final Drive-Thru Fish Fry Is This Friday

Our last Drive-Thru Fish Fry of the season is Friday from 5:00-7:00pm. The full menu available is found on our parish website.

We will also have the undercroft open as a dine-in option this Friday. Only pizza and drinks will be sold and served in the undercroft. If you would like to purchase fried items, you will order in the Gathering Space and your order will be brought to the undercroft.

Children must be accompanied at all times. The playground and basketball hoops will be closed during these events due to the drive-thru line wrapping through the parking lot.

There is no fish fry on Good Friday.

Young Men's Faith and Fellowship

When: Mondays from 8:00-9:00pm

Where: Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Room B in the undercroft or by zoom 

Ages: 20s through 40s 

Join together in brotherhood with other men to grow in virtue and faith. Each week, we will focus on a different aspect of authentic Catholic masculinity with topics ranging from family and fatherhood to prayer and spiritual life. Join us every week or as your schedule permits. Lenten Speaker Series: Soup, Salad, and the Saints!

Join the Guardian Angels community as we journey through Lent with the saints! Enjoy a meal while deepening your faith through the wisdom and example of the saints who have gone before us in faith. We will begin with a potluck dinner at 6:30pm in the undercroft, followed by a thirty-minute presentation on the life of a saint at 7:15pm.

Bible Camp is Back This Summer!

North Castle is hidden in a frozen land. The King’s valiant Knights are on a quest in search of the King’s Armor. But the armor isn’t what they think it is.

Knights of North Castle: Quest for the King’s Armor, invites children to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power by exploring how we put on the armor of God. Kids will take on the role of brave Knights and begin their quest each session by opening the King’s Book.

GA’s Bible Camp runs from Monday, June 20 through Thursday, June 23 from 9:00am. to 12:00pm.

Camp GAudeo Help Is Needed



This summer (June 27-July 1) marks our eighth annual "Camp GAudeo" - a summer day camp for current 4th-7th grade students filled with fun, faith, and friends. Campers enjoy a variety of incredible activities, games, skills-building, and large events (like Giant Slip-N-Slide) led by older student counselors. We will also enjoy several off-site excursions to Castle Skateland, Urban Air, and Coney Island.

Thanks to an unprecedented response, our spots for camp are currently filled, although we encourage interested families to register for our waitlist on our website. We are currently in great need of students in grades 8-12 to assist as our student counselors (see this peer leader application). Counselors can earn up to 55 service hour credits and have a great time doing so! We also need approximately 12 adults each day to assist us. Any interested adult can view our online sign up to volunteer for anywhere from a day to the entire week of camp.

School Masses

You can find a full schedule of school Masses on the calendar in Rediker. At this time, our All School Masses are NOT open to visitors. We will be livestreaming all of the All School Masses through GA’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. Families are welcome to attend grade level Masses.

Lunchroom News

Kaldi's offers a hot lunch option every day for our students. All meals must be pre-ordered before 8:30am the day of service; this is done through the Ez-Parent website. Students will have the option to buy additional items during lunch, as long as they have an established account with a positive balance. Order GA Sweatpants

Help support the 8th grade class and order GA sweatpants. These are approved to wear on out-of-uniform and spirit wear days. A portion of each sweatpant order raises money towards the 8th grade trip and activities each year. Pants can be ordered online throughout the school year.

Cookie Ministry 

Guardian Angels School Cookie Ministry teams up with the Parish Parish Peanut Butter group to feed families in need. The Peanut Butter group makes 1,500 peanut butter and bologna sandwiches. GA students donate cookies. St. Francis Seraph Church in Over-the-Rhine gives the food to families in need. Students are asked to bring in two dozen cookies, brownies, or rice krispie bars on their classroom's designated day. They do need to be bagged, two treats per bag. All kindergarten classes are responsible for the next donation on Monday, April 11th. Donations of juice boxes and prepackaged snacks are also needed. A complete schedule for the school year is attached. 

Attendance Line

If your child will be absent or late to school, please call the main school office by 8:00 each morning. We recently upgraded our telephone system. In doing so, we removed the former “attendance line.” All parents needing to report their child absent or late to school should call our Office Assistant, Melissa Boston, using the main school phone number - 624-3141.

Christian Service Program - Faith in Action

The purpose of the Christian Service Program is to enhance the religion curriculum at Guardian Angels Church. It is the duty of all Christians to reach out in service to those around them. Christ asks us to be His hands and feet on earth, keeping His mission of reaching out to those in need alive. The students will complete their service within the following settings: at home, the parish community/school and the community at-large. This outreach may be completed individually, with a partner, or in a group. 

This program will focus more on the meaning of the actual service opportunities rather than completing a prescribed amount of time. You will choose activities for each component—service to your family, service to your school/parish and service to the poor and vulnerable in our community. There is no minimum requirement of hours to complete. Grades 1-3 are required to complete at least 2 activities for each component; grades 4-8 at least 3 for each. You are certainly encouraged to complete more! See your Religion teacher, Mrs. Froehlich, or the parish website for a list of suggested activities and the log sheet.

Box Tops For Education

The Guardian Angels PTA collects Box Tops and uses the funds earned to purchase indoor recess games and outdoor recess equipment. Box Tops is now on a digital platform. To participate, you’ll need to download the Box Tops App and scan your grocery receipt within 14 days of purchase. You’ll find more information here.

Kroger Community Rewards

Have you signed up for Kroger Community Rewards and designated GA as your beneficiary? The more families who register, the more money our school receives through the program. Kroger Community Rewards offers a great way for you to support our school's technology fund...and you don't have to spend a penny. You can search for GA or use our NPO number, 80200. The amount Guardian Angels receives depends on the points our supporters rack up while grocery shopping.

You can support Guardian Angels Parish when you shop at Amazon.com! GA is a participant in the AmazonSmile Program. You can sign-up to have a portion of your purchase sales come back to Guardian Angels. When you make purchases through the AmazonSmile page, and have GA selected as your beneficiary, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products back to GA. You have to be shopping from smile.amazon.com page of the site for GA to receive the benefit.

The annual Heartbeats for Life 5K Walk/Run is Saturday, April 9th at Lunken Playfield. Fun for serious walkers, runners, step-counters, and super fun for families! More information is attached.

Spring Soccer League Sign-Ups are Open

Registration for Girls Southeast and Southeast Cincinnati Soccer Association (boys) teams is open now. More information and a registration form is attached.

Erickson Irish Dance is offering a unique camp experience this summer. There are two sessions offered for children ages 5-12. More information is attached.

Summer Camps At McNick

Summer Activities at Saint Ursula

Registration for Saint Ursula Summer Academy and Athletics Camps is now open!  There is something for everything this summer at SUA. Grade school girls are invited to learn how to play the guitar, try their hand at cooking, sing, perform, and fine-tune their math skills during one of our Summer Academy sessions, or dribble, spike, pitch, or lob during one of our Athletic Camps. Additionally, registrations are being accepted for DreamGirls in Action STEM Day (April 2), Sneak Peek Campus Tours (April 30), and Girls Night (May 6). A flyer is attached.
