Remember your loved one at the Annual Memorial

Our Annual Memorial allows us to come together to honor our loved ones whom we have lost to suicide. O pen to all suicide loss survivors, i t is an opportunity to reconnect, support one another, and share memories. Mark your calendar to join us on  Sunday, January 26 at First Parish of Arlington.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the non-denominational service - whether through submitting a song, a poem, or a letter for the event's program; by saying a few words at the service; or simply by being present.  Please submit any contributions for the program book by this Friday, January 17.  As with all Samaritans programs, there is no fee for participation.

The  Samaritans 2020 Boston Marathon team is off to a  record-breaking start, with more than $113,000 raised toward our team goal of $180,000 and 94 days to go! The 14 dedicated runners on this team are loss survivors, volunteers, and folks who have benefited from our programs and services. Each month leading up to the big day, we'll be highlighting members of our outstanding team. This month, Amanda, Avery, and Callie share their experiences preparing for the 2020 Boston Marathon.
Introducing Lily Feinson

Lillian (Lily) Feinson, our newest Coordinator for Community Education and Outreach, joined the team in January 2020. Lily hails from Vermont and is a recent graduate of Brandeis University. Lily spent her time at Brandeis studying Gender and Sexuality Education and providing sexual health education and peer support to her community. Small world: as a student at Brandeis, Lily was heavily involved with a group on campus called Student Sexuality Information Services - a group that Samaritans' Community Education and Outreach team presents to every year. It's exciting to be able to have someone join our team who has seen the work already and used those skills first hand. In her free time, Lily loves to bake! She makes particularly good banana bread.

We appreciate our Samaritans family who have built awareness of our organization so that the community knows how to contact us in a time of crisis. In their news report, our Chief Program Officer Ron White shares ways you may help someone that you know is struggling.
