Celebrating 15 Years of Excellence

For 15 years, NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome, has been providing support and services to families and individuals living with Tourette Syndrome and its associated mental health disorders.

"When we first established NJCTS, our goal was to provide support to New Jersey families needing diagnosis and services for this misunderstood and often misdiagnosed condition that can affect every aspect of an individual's life," said Faith Rice, Executive Director and founder of NJCTS. "Today, we continue to provide those services and have grown to be recognized globally for programming and partnerships that have resulted in first-ever research findings into the genetic causes of Tourette Syndrome."

Executive Director Faith Rice Shares Her Family's TS Story

My son Kim came to us when he was 6 years old.  It was a joy to add Kim to our family - each day was a new adventure seeing him grow.  He was an excellent student, polite, a good athlete, energetic and caring.  His nickname was "Bird" because throughout the day he would chirp, clear his throat and chirp again.  An adorable, endearing habit, until the night we went to the emergency room when he was 8 because something was stuck in his throat.
