BBACC Welcomes New Executive Director
The Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Teri Doty has been appointed the new Executive Director of the organization effective January 7, 2020.

“I want to thank the Chamber’s board of directors for their vote of confidence and enthusiasm as I transition to the Executive Director role at the Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce,” Said Teri. “I am very excited to work with this Chamber as we determine our future while we focus on an inclusive and vibrant membership”.

She will be able to jump right into the position and gain ground immediately with moving the Chamber forward in a positive manner – from strengthening our member base to forming civic and community partnerships. Her marketing background will give great value to existing and potential Chamber members.

Teri has eighteen years of experience in the publishing industry on both coasts and enjoys building and maintaining relationships with people. It also helps that she is familiar with the Bucksport Bay area. “I was impressed by Teri's enthusiasm and involvement in Bucksport events in the past five years since she's lived here. I like her energy and fresh perspective” said Catherine Ring, Chamber Board Member.
Recognition Party for Leslie Wombacher!
Join us for a recognition party for Leslie Wombacher
Wednesday, January 22, 2020
5:00pm and 7:00pm
Lighthouse Arts & Education
86 Main Street, Bucksport

Leslie has served as the Executive Director of the Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce since July 2012. Although her last day in the office was December 20, for nearly eight years, Leslie has been an indelible leader of the Bucksport Bay Area and we want to say thank you.

She has worked tirelessly to put Bucksport and its surrounding towns on the map. It took her less than a year to revitalize the Bucksport Bay Farmers' Market, which has brought new life to our downtown. She is the creator who formed the beloved Ghostport community event, and you probably have seen her out on the streets at midnight decorating the town for special occasions. She has also implemented many new programs benefiting our members including: "Invite your Neighbor", a recruitment program; and "Win Win" a member to member discount program.

Leslie has been instrumental in growing our membership and collaborating with businesses and organizations to make a long lasting impact on the area we love. She also successfully partnered with other resources like the Maine Downtown Center Program and Community Heart and Soul when this town needed it most.
Her passion and drive has led us all to tackle new opportunities and further ourselves as potential leaders.

Leslie hasn't shared what's next for her, but she did allude to a new career direction, one that will allow her to slow down and spend more time with her family. She has assured us that she will remain an active volunteer and a contributing member of her community.

Please join us in showing our appreciation to Leslie for the unbelievable work she’s done! And join us on January 22, 2020 so we can gather together and celebrate our friend and leader. This is a free event and very casual, so please stop by to wish her well on her next escapade. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the office, 469.6818 or [email protected]

From Participant (Spotlight, Green Book), DARK WATERS tells the shocking and heroic story of an attorney ( Mark Ruffalo) who risks his career and family to uncover a dark secret hidden by one of the world’s largest corporations and to bring justice to a community dangerously exposed for decades to deadly chemicals.
Corporate environmental defense attorney Rob Bilott ( Academy Award®-nominee Mark Ruffalo) has just made partner at his prestigious Cincinnati law firm in large part due to his work defending Big Chem companies. He finds himself conflicted after he’s contacted by two West Virginia farmers who believe that the local DuPont plant is dumping toxic waste in the area landfill that is destroying their fields and killing their cattle. Hoping to learn the truth about just what is happening, Bilott, with help from his supervising partner in the firm, Tom Terp ( Academy Award®-winner Tim Robbins) , files a complaint that marks the beginning of an epic 15-year fight—one that will not only test his relationship with his wife, Sarah ( Academy Award®-winner Anne Hathaway) but also his reputation, his health and his livelihood.

Happy New Year! We have some exciting
things coming up this year.

First, we listened to our patients’ feedback on how they think would be the easiest way to reach us. The result is a new Phone Directory. You can clip and save the directory at the right. It is also available on our website. We really strive to make being our patient a great experience and as easy as possible.

We are also instituting increased vascular care in our Ellsworth location. Dr. Nightingale, our vascular expert,
will be holding Vascular Care Tuesdays starting Jan. 7. If you have any venous problems at all, make an appointment
with us. You can read more about our Ellsworth providers on the back.
January is Thyroid Awareness Month. Having a thyroid condition is pretty common but should not be left untreated. Read the story on the back and call us if you have any symptoms.
