Small Business Relief Grant Program for Pottawatomie County
Shawnee Forward has opened the Small Business Relief Grant application. These are up to $5000 in COVID relief assistance grants paid for by Pottawatomie County, City of Shawnee and City of Tecumseh CARES funds. Coupons? As a former small business owner, I can tell you visitors will go out of their way to "cash-in" their coupon from TravelOK.com. The coupon needs to be a .jpg with clearly stated promotion and expiration (usually Dec 31). You determine the rules of your coupon. See examples HERE. OKLAHOMA GOVERNOR'S ORDER FOR BARS & RESTAURANTS
This order affects all 77 Oklahoma counties including Pottawatomie County and Shawnee, OK, USA.
Be aware most bars and restaurants have chosen to close at or before 11:00pm to stay in compliance.
  • Effective November 19th, 2020, food or beverage of any kind shall not be sold, dispensed or served for on-premises consumption by any license holder authorized to make such sales or services after 11:00 P.M. CST daily. The sale and service of food and non-alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption may resume at 5:00 A.M. CST daily. The sale and service of alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption may resume at 8:00 A.M. CST daily.
  • Effective November 19, 2020, restaurants and bars shall ensure a minimum of six (6) feet of separation between parties or groups at different tables, booths or bar tops, unless the tables are separated by properly sanitized glass or plexiglass.
  • It is due to expire Dec 19, 2020.
CITY OF SHAWNEE FACE MASK ORDINANCE
The City of Shawnee has implemented a mask ordinance be in place until June 30, 2021. Masks are required when one is indoors in a public location. This would include concerts and stores. Masks are not required while you are eating - they are required while you wait. Masks are not required for outdoor activities like the Splash Park. Spectators at an indoor sporting event would require a mask, participants are not required to mask. The outdoor flea markets would be exempt from masks, unless required by the organizers. Masks are not required for people that are medically unable to wear masks or children under age 11. Many properties, such as tribal casinos or those outside of the City limits, previously implemented mask requirements. Click HERE for full text.

  • When in doubt, wear your mask.
  • Keep an eye out for signage with further instructions.
  • You may experience modified hours of operation or reservations required.
