This Saturday: Dallas marks 50th memorial of Roe v. Wade
Thousands to march, and abortion survivor Claire Culwell to headline rally
DALLAS, JANUARY 15, 2020  --  This Saturday, January 18, 2020, thousands of North Texans will gather in downtown Dallas to prayerfully remember the tragic loss of more than 60 million pre-born children since the U.S. Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade first filed in Dallas 50 years ago and to stand witness to the beautiful gift of LIFE.

The annual North Texas March for Life events are sponsored by the Catholic Pro-Life Community, the Respect Life Ministry of the Diocese of Dallas; Texans for Life Coalition; and the Respect Life Office of the Diocese of Fort Worth.

The theme of this year's events is Truth Transcends. In his open letter to the Dallas-area Catholic community, Bishop Edward Burns of the Diocese of Dallas expounded on the theme which "invit[es] us to reflect on the sanctity of life from the moment of conception. It is a sacred truth unchanged by cultural trends or political winds; it is an eternal gift to be celebrated, respected and protected."

The schedule of events open to the public are:

8:00 a.m. ROE MEMORIAL PRAYER VIGILS outside:
Southwestern abortion facility, 8616 Greenville Ave at Royal Ln, Dallas
Planned Parenthood abortion facility, 7989 West Virginia Dr at Wheatland Rd, Dallas

9:45 a.m. PROCESSION OF ROSES at Cathedral Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 2215 Ross Ave, Dallas. The procession is a moving memorial with 47 children, teens and adults in remembrance of the children lost to abortion in the year of their birth from 1973 to the present.

10:00 a.m. ROE MEMORIAL MASS at Cathedral Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. A bilingual Mass will be celebrated by Abbot Peter Verhalen and Dallas Diocese priests.

12:30 p.m. NORTH TEXAS MARCH FOR LIFE and RALLY.  Thousands will march from the Cathedral Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe (corner of Crockett and Ross) to the rally outside of the Earle Cabell Federal Courthouse, housing the district court where the Roe v. Wade case was first filed in 1970.

The Rally will feature abortion survivor Claire Culwell, Rev. Zach Webb of Holy Trinity Seminary, and personal testimonies from Adriana Morenoa mom who courageously chose life, and Jen Dansby of the Project Rachel healing ministry. Music will be performed by Christ for the Nations, and Kyleen Wright, President of Texans for Life Coalition, will serve as the rally's emcee.

"T his peaceful and powerful day of events is an opportunity for our community to celebrate the gift of life, to stand in solidarity with women and their families, and to unite in hopeful prayer for a day when all life is respected and protected," said Catholic Pro-Life Community Executive Director, Becky Visosky.
