Need a fun excuse to get the whole family out of the house during the holidays? The Fleet is here to help!
We've decked our halls with a sled-full of San Diego-style holiday cheer in
Winter Paradice. Adults can sip holiday cocktails rink-side and the whole family can take a glide on our new synthetic ice rink. We're offering
extended holiday hours, Late Night Skating on select evenings and keeping our doors open every day, so you can even come visit us on Christmas and New Year's Day!
Just for the holidays, we're bringing back one of our most popular films ever,
Jerusalem. The film immerses audiences into one of the world's most beloved cities. Discover why this tiny piece of land is sacred to three major religions through the stories of Jewish, Christian and Muslim families who call Jerusalem home.
Jerusalem plays now through January 5. It's a perfect film to see on Christmas Day.
Need a good way to wind down from New Year's Eve and ring in New Year's Day? Make 2020 a year for the stars! Our monthly planetarium show,
The Sky Tonight, falls on January 1 this year. Our in house astronomer will take you on a tour of the mythological roots of our solar system. Come early to enjoy telescope star gazing with the San Diego Astronomy Society outside on the Prado.
As you plan your holiday Fleet visit, make sure to check out
Pause|Play one last time. It's our adult-sized ode to playgrounds of yesterday and all the science you missed while having fun. Unfortunately, recess will soon we over and we'll have to close the exhibition in early January. On the bright side, the closure makes room for some "mind-bending" and "brain-teasing" exhibitions coming soon!
Looking for the perfect gift for the science-minded friends and family in your life?
The North Star Science Store in the Fleet Science Center has you covered. We've got hundreds of fun and educational science gifts for all ages, including toys, models, books, do-it-yourself kits and more. If you want to give the gift that lasts all year, you can also treat your loved ones to a
gift membership. They'll be able to enjoy the science anytime they'd like!
Fleet Winter Camps are still open for enrollment, with fun and educational ways to keep your young ones active and stimulated over the winter break. Grades 1–3 can construct robots or learn how paper airplanes work. Grades 4–8 can design their own game in the ThoughtSTEM Computer Coding Camps.
