As you know, COVID cases are on the rise in our area. All families should be prepared for the possibility that our school or any part thereof could be moved to full remote learning for a 14- day period at any time.
If you or your child tests positive or has had an exposure to anyone who has, please contact Nurse Taylor ( [email protected]) and me, ( [email protected]). Keep your child home.
If we receive a late notification after 6:00PM or a notification on the weekend of a positive case at our school, you will be notified by our emergency notification system that our school will be on full remote learning for the following day to give us the time needed to investigate the situation. You will be notified of next steps when they become available.
During the school day, if you receive a phone call from the school nurse asking you to pick up your child because he/she has one or more COVID symptoms, please do so within 30 minutes. We are in the midst of a pandemic. The school nurses have rules and regulations from the state that need to be followed. It is mandatory that you pick up your child. It is not optional. You must come or have a designee who you can send in your place. Please develop a plan for your family in case this happens.
A student on remote learning needs to follow their daily class schedule unless otherwise directed by their teacher. They must arrive to class on time, be seated in an area conducive to learning, have their camera turned on at all times, wear their uniform shirt, take care of their physical needs prior to the beginning of the session, be attentive and respond when called on. We do monitor the remote learning throughout the course of the school day. Parents will receive a phone call when necessary to correct a situation. If your child is going to be absent from remote learning on any given day, please contact the school office prior to 8 AM.
If you plan to leave the state during the Christmas holidays, please contact the school nurse for instructions. We depend on everyone to do the right thing.
