Happy February! The new semester launches with wonderful new programming, including the opening of a new exhibition, Fast Fashion/Slow Art (January 30-August 2). Recognizing the long participation of Maine in the textile industry, this exhibition constitutes-together with Rufus Porter's Curious World and Maine's Lithographic Landscapes-part of the Museum's slate of special offerings recognizing the Bicentennial of Maine statehood this year. In February we also honor Black History Month, with special presentations related to African/American: Two Centuries of Portraits. This month's bulletin features a series of articles that reveal insight into the exhibitions, artworks, and student work we take pride in featuring at the BCMA. We look forward to seeing you in the galleries!
