Help support the Forest Preserve, Our Natural Treasure
The Sea Pines Forest Preserve is one of our community’s greatest assets and symbolizes the importance we place on the environment, wildlife and future generations.

Over the past year, The Sea Pines Forest Preserve Foundation has continued restoring “Our Natural Treasure”:
  • They have worked diligently to address both residual and new storm issues, from Hurricane Mathew to Hurricane Dorian.
  • A land management plan has begun the process of improving the diversity of the habitat and the wildlife species that populate the preserve.
  • They have finalized plans for moving the primary driving entrance to the service road off Greenwood Drive and are in the process of obtaining permissions and permits.

The Disaster Assistance Equity Act of 2019
The Disaster Assistance Equity Act of 2019
Community Associations Institute (CAI) is pleased to announce the introduction of bipartisan legislation that expands access to FEMA disaster assistance to community associations.

With bipartisan support, CAI is more encouraged than ever that this bill, Disaster Assistance Equity Act of 2019, will pass in the 116th Congress.

How the Disaster Assistance Equity Act can benefit you
The Disaster Assistance Equity Act of 2019 will correct the current inequity in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) system. Community associations impacted by a presidentially declared natural disaster—blizzard, drought, earthquake, fire, flood, hurricane, or tornado—are NOT currently offered the same FEMA financial recovery support as the rest of the country.
If this Act passes it can save community association residents millions of dollars in disaster recovery efforts.
