Save the Date: LGBTQ Ohio Funders Learning Tour
Building on the momentum of the Cleveland Foundation's sponsorship of the Gay Games, Funders for LGBTQ Issues invites you to a learning tour on LGBTQ issues in Ohio. This learning tour will foster cross-learning between national LGBTQ funders and local Ohio-based funders, providing a vehicle for engaging and educating new Ohio-based funders around LGBTQ issues while allowing national funders to learn in depth about the needs and opportunities in a specific state. Requests for Proposals
  • The Out in the South Fund has released its first request for proposals from LGBTQ-focused funds based in the U.S. South.  As part of Funders for LGBTQ Issues' ongoing efforts to increase sustainable grantmaking for Southern LGBTQ communities, the Out in the South Fund is a collaborative fund that will provide matching dollars and planning grants for LGBTQ-focused community funds in the South.  Through this partnership, local funds will then be able to provide funding to help build the capacity of community-based organizations working to improve the lives of LGBTQ Southerners through advocacy,  culture change efforts and effective service provision.  For more information and to submit an application, please click here.
  • The Adam Foundation provides funding with an emphasis on Forsyth County-based LGBT advocacy, education, and social service organizations and programs. The deadline for application is April 30th.  For more information and to apply,  click here.
  • The Baltimore Corps Fellowship connects professionals to high-impact roles in nonprofits, social enterprises and government agencies throughout Baltimore City. Fellowships are full-time, one-year, paid commitments, with potential to hire the Fellow full time at the end of the year. The deadline for application is April 15th.  For more information and to apply,  click here.
  • Groundswell Fund has launched a Rapid Response Fund, a funding vehicle dedicated to moving resources quickly and strategically for unforeseen needs and opportunities. There will be no deadline or formal grant cycle for Rapid Response Fund grants. Grant requests may range from $5,000 -$30,000. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis as they are submitted.  For more information about the 2016 grants and to apply,  download the RFP here.

Bianca Alston
Bianca joins the Arcus foundation as the Finance & Operations Assistant. Bianca comes to Arcus from ABFE (formerly know as the Association of Black Foundation Executives) where she supported membership, operations, and programs for two years. Welcome Bianca!  


Luis Diaz-Albertini
After more than six years at American Jweish World Service as a Program Officer on the Sexual Health and Rights Team and working to support grassroots organization in Latin America and the Caribbean, Luis is joining the Rockefeller Foundation as a Project Manager for the Strategy Development Team. Sharon J. Lettman-Hicks
The Schott Foundation for Public Education recently announced that Sharon Lettman-Hicks has joined their Board of Directors. Sharon is the  Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC). Congratulations, Sharon!


Daniel Maiuri
Daniel joins the Arcus foundation as the  Social Justice Program Administrative Coordinator  after working for nonprofits in Chicago, Cape Town, New Orleans, and New York. His background includes collegiate leadership development, historic preservation, and LGBT health and wellness. Congratulations , Daniel!


Marin Watts
Marin joins Trans Justice Funding Project (TJFP) as the new Director of Operations and Communications!  Prior to TJFP, Marin co-founded Media Masters Alliance-a media arts and mentorship program for LGBTQ and allied youth, and worked on building communications and community outreach strategies at Artstor-a digital library and archive. Many congratulations, Marin!
