WATER MANAGEMENT IN THE ANTELOPE VALLEY
On Tuesday, BIA-LAV met with members of the Antelope Valley-East Kern (AVEK) Water Agency. BIA-LAV's geographical representation in the County of Los Angeles stretches as far north as the Antelope Valley and it's imperative that we remain engaged with the regulators and policymakers in this area. There is an enormous amount of building potential in the region thanks to agency's, like AVEK, who have planned for long term water use through diversified water management.

BURBANK'S NEW HOUSING GOALS
On Tuesday, BIA-LAV Director of Government Affairs, Diana Coronado, attended the Burbank City Council Meeting to comment on a recently introduced housing goals proposal. BIA is encouraged that the City is taking a proactive approach to address their housing shortfall. City staff has recommended adding 12,000 new homes over the next 15 years to increase their jobs to housing ratio to 2.57. The BIA testified in support of the concept and made recommendations on how to best achieve those results. We look forward to working with City staff as the methodologies and strategies for these goals are determined.

LANCE WILLIAMS, WILLIAMS HOMES
"BIA-LAV has continually been the voice of support when we need them, and has helped us deliver our projects on time when we’ve reached a roadblock. When we have experienced utility delays, we’ve called BIA to facilitate a resolution.
Thanks to their strong relationships and advocacy, we’ve been able to obtain services in order to move our homeowners in on time. That means we have more units coming onto market and helping to alleviate the housing crunch. BIA, we really appreciate all your help."
