A Message from the Principal
January 6, 2020

Parents and Guardians,

I imagine that tomorrow will hold mixed feelings for many of you as kids will be heading back to school from the break. Personally, Christy and I really enjoyed the break and the opportunity to have all of our children home for at least a portion of the time. I am also hoping all of us will quickly get adjusted back into our normal routines.

For the last several years, LHS has held our Advanced Academics Banquet on the Sunday night before the beginning of the spring semester. Last night, we continued that tradition and spent the evening honoring the 323 students who were recognized by College Board as Advanced Placement Scholars based on their performance on AP Exams last May. It was a great evening as we celebrated the success these students have achieved through their hard work and the support of parents and teachers. Congratulations again to this group!

I truly hope you and your family were able to spend some quality time together over the break. I look forward to seeing your students tomorrow for a great beginning to the spring semester. Please take a few minutes to review the rest of the information that can be found below in this email. We will continue to update the school information throughout the semester to make sure you know what events are going on.

Sincerely,

Chris Mayfield
Principal
Lovejoy High School

Senior Projects
The Senior Project is a culminating high school initiative that demonstrates a student’s ability to write, speak, acquire and apply knowledge, solve problems, and apply a variety of skills, including time management and task analysis. It is intended to demonstrate what students know and can do as they prepare to graduate. It prepares them for college and/or the workplace and can help them transform their senior year into one that is uniquely challenging and stimulating. The Senior Project is performance based and adaptable to most topics of interest. We would love to have Junior and Senior parents judging projects this year.
