Sadly, we don't know. However, with our new Diversity Among Philanthropic Professionals (DAPP) Survey, we're hoping to find out! This joint funder briefing - hosted by over 20 affinity partners - is a unique opportunity to break bread and interact with funders across multiple sectors. This day will include speeches from incredible thought leaders, funders and fellow activists as well as facilitated workshops in order to share strategies to defend and move forward efforts to protect people, place and planet. Research, Resources, and Updates
  • In December, MAP released the annual report examining revenue and expenses, fundraising and fundraising efficiency, and other indicators of financial health for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) social justice advocacy, issue, legal, research and public education organizations.
  • MAP, in partnership with the Equality Federation Institute, Freedom for All Americans, and the National Center for Transgender Equality launched a new report providing a comprehensive overview of the gaps in nondiscrimination laws for LGBT people in public spaces.
Requests for Proposals

  • Grantmakers United for Trans Communities (GUTC) Leadership Development Fellowship Program

    The GUTC Leadership Development Fellowship Program will provide ongoing support, peer networking, and leadership and professional development to a cohort of 6 trans, gender non-conforming, or non-binary professionals in philanthropy over a 12-month fellowship period, beginning in April 2018. The fellowship is open to all trans-identified, gender non-binary, and gender non-conforming persons who are currently employed full- or part-time with a philanthropic entity based in the United States. The deadline to apply is 9AM, Monday, February 5th, 2018.
  • Trans Justice Funding Project is currently accepting applications for the 2018 grant cycle. Grassroots, social justice groups run for and by trans people are encouraged to apply. Applicants do not need to by a 501c3 nonprofit or have a fiscal sponsor to be eligible. Applications are due by midnight EST on February 15th, 2018. More information is available here.

  • Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) Awards $1.6 Million

    In late 2017 the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) announced nearly $1.6 million in grants to 26 organizations addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic. This final grant cycle brings EJAF's total investments for 2017 to almost $9.5 million

  • Southern Equality Fund Announces HIV/AIDS Grantees

    The Southern Equality Fund at the Campaign for Southern Equality announced four organizations that selected through the fund's HIV/AIDS Contest Grant Round. Each organization is receiving a $2,500 grant to support an innovative project promoting HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment in the LGBTQ South.

Longtime Director of The National LGBTQ Taskforce Creating Change Conference, Sue Hyde, will depart her role this spring. Sue will assume the role of Executive Director of the Wild Geese Foundation. Congratulations on this transition!
