Family-Friendly COVID-19 Town Hall Events
Our friends at Sesame Street are partnering with CNN to broadcast  family-friendly COVID-19 town hall events . The series is called,  “The ABCs of COVID-19: A CNN/Sesame Street Town Hall for Kids and Parents.”  CNN is accepting  question submissions  from families and we thought you might want to share this unique engagement opportunity with families enrolled in your program!

Parents may submit a written question that they or their children are curious about.  If a question is selected for response by Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta or one of his guest health experts, the parent will be notified ahead of time and asked to submit a video to be played during the town hall.  Sesame’s furry friends also participate in the town hall events and do their part to make a serious topic more understandable.

The types of questions addressed so far include topics like:
  • is it safe to swim in a pool?
  • why do I have to stay at home?
  • why can’t I see my friends right now?
  • what does coronavirus look like?
  • can the coronavirus live in outer space?

You can watch recordings from  recently held CNN/Sesame town halls  to get a sense of the format.

The next town hall will take place at 10 am ET on Saturday, May 30.
