Important Updates
LAST CALL - EANS I, Round III application is due March 30, 2022
This is the final opportunity to gain access to the remaining funds for EANS I. MDE has established $100/pupil as a reasonable target for budgeting purposes. If you require more funding, please include that in your application and budget.

This is your time to:
  • Request adjustments for any unspent categories from Rounds I and II
  • Add in unforeseen vendor fees that we not budgeted for in Rounds I and II
  • Add items you may have missed like the MNSAA School Improvement Software and the 2022 MANS Conference and Expo.

Helpful EANS Application Tip:
Didn't spend all the approved amount on a line item and would like to reallocate those funds to something else? Here is how you indicate changes to already approved funding:
  1. Confirm that the money has not been spent from round 1 or 2 funds.
  2. Indicate the Service or Assistance in the first column.
  3. In the description, indicate the item or service that was not utilized from your previous application along with the dollar amount that went unspent and list the new item or service you plan on purchasing with the intended dollar amount also listed in the description.
  4. DO NOT put a dollar amount in "Anticipated Approximate Dollar Amount" - since this money is already allocated in your application, there is no need to input a dollar amount here. The purpose of this is to reallocate the funding to another EANS eligible item or service since all items/services purchased must be listed in your application. See the graphic below for an example.
The link to the application can be found here.

Please refer to the MANS EANS spreadsheet here for language for your application.
If you have questions, please email them to the Nonpublic Schools email address at MDE, found at Nonpublicschools@michigan.gov
This week MANS members began to receive petitions with a request to assist in a signature collection effort to allow for Michigan Student Opportunity Accounts. This petition drive places the issue of expanded school choice before the legislature, and if passed, would become law. The effort to obtain signatures is headed by Let Michigan Kids Learn, and a coalition of organizations including the Michigan Catholic Conference (MCC) and the Michigan Association of Non-public Schools (MANS).

Emergency Connectivity Fund Round 3
With around $1 billion in un-awarded ECF funding, the FCC has decided to open a 3rd application window. Eligible services and equipment remain unchanged, but applicants may not seek duplicative reimbursement for equipment or services awarded in a previous application window. 3rd and final ECF Form 471 window will open for 15 days on Thursday, April 28, and close Friday, May 13.

MANS Professional Learning
Thank you to all who attended the Nonpublic School Legislative Day this week. As a group, we met with 41 members of the legislator to inform them of important policy issues facing nonpublic schools. Your efforts will go a long way in making sure nonpublic schools are equitably included in important policy and initiatives.

Don't forget to complete this brief survey to let us know how your meetings went! This information will be helpful to the MANS and MCC staff as they continue to work with members of the legislator during the budgeting process.

Nonpublic School Legislative Day was eligible for 2.25 State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs). If you attended and are interested in receiving SCECHs, please click here and complete the form.
