How Can You Give This Fall?
The Spirit of Caring giving campaign is taking the place of The Caring Place's traditional seasonal fundraising events like Deep in the Heart of Caring, Hunger Free Holidays and Sweets, Treats and Trees. It will end in November and currently has raised just over $116,000 and has a goal of $150,000! Can you help us meet our goal? Want to know more about the campaign? Keep reading!
Are you worried about your neighbors in need and wondering how to help? We'd like to introduce you to our giving campaign! The Spirit of Caring campaign was launched with the help of Southwestern University and the Spirit Golf Association. We hope this generous gift of $100,000 from Southwestern University and the Cullen Trust for Higher Education will inspire giving in our community. Help us reach our $150,000 goal for neighbors in need by donating at caringplacetx.org/spiritofcaring. You can also send checks for this campaign to: P.O. Box 1215, Georgetown, Texas, 78627. Please write "Spirit of Caring" in the memo line.

The Mission Continues
Last year, The Caring Place adopted a new mission statement. It wasn't different than what we were already doing, but more reflective. That mission statement is “to provide for the basic human needs of all people in our community in a welcoming, respectful and caring way.” Next, we pondered new ways to act out this statement in the everyday life of our organization, so that there was no question it was an inherent part of our culture....

One unclear aspect of this mission-based culture implementation was, how would it hold up during a pandemic? That’s not something you normally plan, and we didn’t plan for that. So, how do we live out this Mission during a pandemic?
