This training will provide an overview of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and we will identify the impact of traumatic events and how it informs behavioral responses in children. The session will include best practices to support you in creating responses to better support children with a trauma-informed, and compassionate lens. Participants will develop action plans for immediate family and student support.

Explore insights to strategies that encourage positive behaviors in afterschool programs. Tools for providing inviting environments, in which all children's needs may be met, will be shared. Participants will experience how a thoughtfully equipped and well-designed environment can not only encourage all areas of development but have an effect on positive social interactions and behaviors.

Social Emotional Curriculum for Regulation

Come and learn some simple yet incredibly useful tools, language, and approaches based on social-emotional learning curriculums such as Zones of Regulation. We will engage in group activities that involve use of concepts such as following the group plan, social mapping, expected and unexpected reactions, and more. You will leave ready to engage in group activities with your kids this summer, using these simple yet grounding concepts to keep everyone well-regulated in the group.

Register for Trainings Before May 2nd

SEL RESOURCES FROM ACROSS NH

This guide seeks to support afterschool programs with the development of policies that seek to include all children and youth. Research shows many positive outcomes from participation in afterschool programs that intentionally address growth in personal and social skills.

A Guide to

Social and Emotional Learning for the Afterschool Professional

Social and Emotional Learning takes place in all contexts that children and youth participate: their homes, schools, out-of-school time environments, and communities. The field of afterschool’s commitment to Social and Emotional Learning can make a profound difference in the lives of the young people served, and in the adults who guide them.
