COVID Vaccine Information from GTP
Dear Green Tree Families,

It is a privilege to be entrusted with the care of your children. We are working hard everyday to make sure we are using best practices to keep ourselves, our families and our community safe.

In December, the first two vaccines to protect us against COVID were approved by the Food and Drug Administration for what is called emergency use. This means that the vaccines went through all the usual steps- no shortcuts were take that could effect our safety.

Here are two links to reliable sources of information to learn more about the COVID vaccine:

We are getting lots of questions about the availability of the vaccine for our patients. The best indication will be the guidance we receive from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The picture above is a good visual that sums up the current best estimate of when certain groups will be offered the vaccine.

Until then, we are asking you to please keep your guard up and to please take the steps that are within your control that will help keep you, your family and our community safe. This includes wearing a mask, washing your hands and socially distancing to lower the chance of transmission.

We continue to be here for you when you need us.

Sincerely,

Your pediatric team at GTP

GTP Gets Vaccinated

Our providers and RNs were among the first Michiganders to be offered the vaccine with 100 % acceptance among this subset of Green Tree Staff. This was quite a relief to our frontline workers knowing that when the complete series has been received they are 95% protected from disease. Questions will remain about length of immunity and if fully vaccinated persons can transmit the disease. We will continue to share information as we learn more about the vaccine.

What You Can Do Now
This past year has been a year like no other. With the approval of two vaccines, we are at the beginning of the end in our fight against COVID-19. We are asking you to please keep your guard up and to please take the steps that are within your control that will help keep you, your family and our community safe. This includes wearing a mask, washing your hands and socially distancing to lower the chance of transmission.

We are open and seeing patients in both the Ann Arbor and Chelsea offices and virtually through telemedicine.

We are still starting every sick visit as a telemedicine visit and we are still using the Sick Side clinic in Chelsea (aka the former Chelsea waiting room) when we need to see patients with contagious sick symptoms onsite.

This means that we can protect the Well Side clinic in Chelsea and the Ann Arbor office for all the important preventive care services we provide, including those important Well Baby visits and annual physicals.

You have many options to reach us:

You can access the new self-service triage feature by clicking the Get Help button on the GTP home page.

You can always message us through the portal or call us during regular business hours with your clinical questions.

You can schedule an appointment through the website, the portal or by calling us.

You can always reach an on call provider when the office is closed.
