Winter Sports Begin This Week- Are You Ready??
The Arete Prep 2019-20 winter sports season begins this week. There is still time to register!

Volleyball Headed to the 1A State Touranment
The Chargers have qualified for their second straight postseason, earning the #8 seed in the AIA 1A State Touranment.
#8 Arete Prep vs. #9 Anthem Prep
Friday 11/8 @ Coronado HS (7501 E. Viginia Ave, Scottsdale)
With a win in the first round, they would advance to play the winner of #1 Mogollon and #16 Red Mesa. That match would be Friday night (11/8) at 7pm, also at Coronado.
The Chargers finished the regular season 12-4 under 1st year coach Catrina Warren, including a 2nd place finish in the east region. The team is led by first team all region selections Faith Youkhana (Sr.) and Kalen George (Soph).

Arete Swimming Preps for States
Arete Prep Swimming has wrapped up there regular season competition, and now qualifying Chargers have their eye on states! Here is the upcoming postseason schedule:
Thursday 11/7 - State Prelim meet at Phoenix Country Day. Swimmers should be on deck by 3pm. Warm up will start at 3:30, and the meet will begin at 4:30pm. Early release is at 2pm.
Friday 11/8- State Finals @ Phoenix Country Day! Early release is at 1pm, and on deck by 2pm. Warm up will begin at 2:30 and the meet will start at 3:30.
Saturday 11/9- The Meet of Champions will be held at Skyline Aquatic center, and will consist of the top 10 finishers across all 3 divisions of swimming. Warm ups will be at 8am and the meet will start at 9am.
The state championship meet admission is $10 for adults, and $5 for students with ID, athletes will enter for free.

HS XC Chargers to Race in Sectional Meet 11/8
Chargers XC runners are seeking both individual and state qualification as they run in the AIA Sectional Meet on 11/8. The meet takes place close to campus, at Crossroads Park in Gilbert.
The D4 Section 4 boys race (Arete) begins at 10:10am. The D4 Section 4 girls race (Arete) follows at 10:45am.

You may now visit East Valley Sports (6306 East Main Street, Mesa, 85205) to inquire about ordering an Arete Prep Varsity Jacket. We have redesigned the Varsity Letter that was distributed at Fall Sports Awards. IF YOU ARE ORDERING A JACKET, please contact Coach Conklin to receive the new letter. Please keep in mind that jackets take 7-8 weeks for production. We are very excited to see school pride represented in Varsity Jackets around campus! Jackets are dress code approved but may only be worn by the owner.

REGISTRATION FOR A SPORT
2. Every athlete must submit a physical on the approved AIA Physical Forms. Physicals are good for 12 months and must be resubmitted annually.
3. Submit the athletic fee. All middle school sports (including archery) are $250. All high school sports are $290. Select Online Payment to pay by debit/credit card online, or you may submit cash, check, or money to the front office.
4. (HS ONLY) If not previously completed, every high school athlete must complete the Brainbook Concussion Course. The AIA will notify Arete electronically once the student has successfully completed the course. High school athletes are required to complete this course only once during their high school career.
All items must be completed and turned in before your student may participate in their sport.
