Since we trained the 11 new teachers in April, it seems that the ministry has begun to multiply rapidly. In June 2021, we started with one class (13 students), in September we added a second class (up to 25 students), and this past May we started our third class (total of 35 students). The new teachers will be adding new classes in August and September, which will bring the number of classes to 11 with well over 100 students.
This growth has been wonderful, but it is more than I can manage from Alabama without some assistance from staff in Guatemala. Therefore, Sandra and I will be traveling to Guatemala at the end of July for the sole purpose of adding three new staff members. These staff members are all Guatemalans who will begin to assist us with the work there. We praise the Lord for these three partners and the long-term relationship we have had with each of them. They will be a tremendous blessing to us and will provide the local oversight needed to continue the growth of the ministry.
This presents a huge prayer need for us though. I will be responsible for raising the support to fund several of these staff members and their expenses. So, would you please pray that God will provide for these needs and give us opportunities to share our story with potential prayer and financial supporters?. As we add classes, we will have to add responsibility to each staff member, which will add to our financial needs.
Thank you for all the prayer and financial support over this past year. We are amazed at what God has done this past year and we cannot wait to see what He is going to do in the next year.
