Dear Families,

There are many different reasons why each of us loves Park Maitland School. For me, this week has crystallized why I am so passionate about our beloved school. While our traditions and culture are vital to our success, it’s our families and staff, the people, that make it the 53 years’ strong model of elementary education done right.

I generally consider myself to be stoic and am not prone to sentimentality, but I have been overwhelmed by the kindness, support, and well wishes that have come my way since the head of school search was announced just yesterday. I will be forever grateful to my friends and Park Maitland family for their belief in my character, my commitment, and our vision for the school. The words “Thank You” just aren’t adequate in a situation like this, but I am genuinely thankful to know we are partners in this together, and I appreciate you all.

I recently wrote in our newsletter that my “one word” for this year is Strength, and please know, that YOU, our Park Maitland community give me strength. This week has confirmed for me that everything that we are is special and beyond compare. There is nowhere I would rather be, and I (and our entire phenomenal administrative team) will never stop working to ensure that Park Maitland remains the wonder-filled school we know and love.

Again, thank you.
Very Warmly,
Davina Spillmann

Thank you to the many families who have re-enrolled. Re-enrolling now allows the school to make realistic, practical decisions for our facility, curriculum, and staffing needs for the next school year. It directly affects our ability to make next year the best year yet for your child(ren).

Please remember that your re-enrollment is not complete and your child is not registered for next year until the deposit has been paid. Deposits should be paid within 48 hours of registration, and unfortunately, deposits cannot be drafted. Please pay through check or credit card. If you have any questions, the business office will be happy to assist you.

SUPERSTAR TEACHER OF THE WEEK
This is my 10th year teaching first grade Reading and ESW at Park Maitland. My son, Chase, is also a part of the Park Maitland family and is currently in 5th grade. Graduating from Auburn University, I am a huge football fan and always look forward to gathering with my friends and family on game days. War Eagle!

I have so many amazing memories to reflect on over my past ten years at Park Maitland, especially with the first grade students. Each year I look forward to “flying” around campus during the Festival of Nations, feeding the amazing giraffes at the Brevard Zoo, and having a blast dancing around the classroom with the students. I also cherish those special moments when I see a child’s face light up with joy when they match ribbons with their Jelly Fudge Friend or finally read a book that used to be too difficult for them. Each student has touched my life, and I am grateful I have been able to be a part of theirs as well. I love each of you bunches!
SUPER SENIOR PARENTS
Due to the amazing work of the Kohn family and our parent foundation, the senior games will be live-streamed! Games will be played next week during 1st period on Monday (cricket), Wednesday (soccer), and Friday (kickball). Plan to tune in--if you are able to do so--beginning at 8:15 a.m.

Here is the link: Twitch.tv/PMFoundation
The video stream will automatically begin once we start broadcasting.

We're excited!
