We want to support your community, but we need your ideas! Go to alleganfoundation.org to see what your community selected last year or look at the ideas below for inspiration.
 
NEW Love Your Hometown DEADLINE:
January 10, 2020 at 5:00 pm.
 
Projects must benefit the whole community. Need inspiration?
Add a handicap accessible swing to a park
Organize a river clean up
Add life ring preservers along a body of water
Clean up walking paths and add a bench or trash can
Paint a mural
Plant flowers and bushes that attract bees and butterflies
Update your hometown’s holiday decorations
Restore a water foundation or old city clock
Update faded or outdated signage for your hometown
Install an outdoor art sculpture
Add bike racks to parks and tennis courts
Add a fish cleaning station next to the lake or river


On or before January 31, 2020 you will be contacted with the approval or decline of your project. If approved, you will receive a participation packet in the mail.

Voting will start on February 14 and ends on February 29, 2020. The project with the most votes in each of the school district areas will be awarded a grant up to $1,000 to make it happen - along with a Wild Card winner.
 
What is the Wild Card?  One project will be a chosen by the ACCF to receive a Love Your Hometown grant. This project will be one that did not receive the most votes in their hometown (school district area), but the ACCF feels em bodies the Love Your Hometown spirit.

March 11, Bloomingdale
March 14, Martin, Plainwell & Otsego
March 18 Fennville
March 21, Allegan & Hamilton
March 25,Saugatuck
March 28, Wayland & Hopkins

Non-Profits who serve Allegan County residents
the deadline to submit an article and photo's for the April 2020 Non-Profit Spotlight publication is January 17th!


For the Spotlight you will submit a 400 word article, a photo (or two),
your logo, all your contact information and extra informational bits.
The publication reaches almost 12,000 Allegan County residents who receive the Allegan County News, The Commercial Record, Union Enterprise and the Allegan zones of the Holland Sentinel
PLUS 50 other locations around the county.


The cost is only $50 per quarterly issue. The ACCF picks up the rest of the cost! This cost has remained the same for 6 years!

A small black & white business card size ad in one of these papers will cost you $89!! The Non-Profit Spotlight is the best investment of $200 a year you can make.

By April 2020, households will receive an invitation to participate in the census. You'll then have three options to respond: online, by phone, or by mail.
Census Day is on April 1, 2020.
When completing the census, you'll note where you are living on April 1.
