Clean Coast, Clean Waters Initiative Fund   
  
The application deadline is February 15th for a new fund designed to support marine shoreline clean-up and derelict vessel removal in coastal communities within British Columbia. Funding of between $500,000 to $3,500,000 is available to each applicant. An approved project plan and signed agreement needs to be in place by March 31st. Read more 
RCMP Fraud Awareness Bulletin   
  
The RCMP is cautioning UBCM's membership regarding ongoing attempts to defraud local governments. 'Spear Phishing,' 'Whaling,' 'Vishing' or 'Payment Redirect' scams, as they are commonly known, are being used in an attempt to get local governments and other businesses to send funds or redirect payments to fraudsters posing as service providers or associates. Read more 
Building Officials Qualifications Webinar  
  
The Building and Safety Standards Branch and the Building Officials' Association of BC will be co-hosting a webinar on February 2, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. to talk about the mandatory Building Official Qualification requirements that begin to apply on February 28, 2021.  To RSVP, please e-mail Building Safety before noon on Monday, February 1, 2021.
Registration extended for LGLA Forum   
  
The registration for LGLA's 2021 Virtual Leadership Forum, "Leading in Unprecedented Times", has been extended to Friday, January 29th to meet demand from members. The Forum is open to both elected officials and senior staff from local governments and First Nations.
