Issue XXVII
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
Dear Fisher Families,

Thank you to all who helped make our Dodgeball Tournament a smashing success!!! A special thanks to Kari Matsumoto and Francine Shore for all their dedication and support of our Tournament. It was my first opportunity to coach a team and be involved in this wonderful event. I had a blast, even in this abridged format. It was a great day and we are already looking forward to next year!

As you know, masks are now strongly recommended indoors, but not required. Each morning this week, via KRJF, we are reminding students of this change and appropriate behavior towards each other. No person should be made to feel badly for their choice to mask or not. Please take a moment at home to discuss this important topic with your child. We are here to support and encourage positive behavior for everyone! Thank you.

Our Electives Selection Process is changing! Coming soon to the Fisher Flyer and our website will be a detailed slideshow/video about our planned electives for the 22.23 school year. Please watch the video and discuss the choices with your child. You will have more than two weeks to review the video, discuss options with your child and ask questions if needed. Then, on April 7, in Flex, your child will be making their selection at school.

Math Placement Testing for the 22.23 school year is planned for the week of March 28th. Each teacher will determine the particular day that week that they will be assessing your 6th or 7th grader. A very detailed slide deck as well as extensive other information is available here: Math Department Webpage

Although it seems months away, our state testing will be here soon. CAASPP testing is planned for the week of April 25th. Please make sure your child will be present each day. Please plan any appointments around these school days as make-up testing is time consuming and taxing.

Thank you for your continued support!

Take care and stay well.

Mary Lonhart
Principal

WINTER TIPS FOR PE STUDENTS
  • Students can keep an extra pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt in their locker to use for PE. These can be any sweats, not just Fisher-logo sweats.

  • Students also have the option to purchase PE logo sweats from the department any time of the year. These can be purchased at the beginning of each PE period.

  • The grass is wet most days. Bring extra shoes to wear just for PE and avoid having wet feet for the remainder of your school day.
