Around the Square                                       November  2019

Make your month of thanks-giving a month of thanks-living by participating in the fun and festive events our great small town has to offer!

On Friday, November 1st, taste and learn about the ancient art of food preservation at the KSQ Farmers Market's 2019 Fermentation Festival from 3-7pm. Then head over to Square Pear Gallery for the opening reception for "Little Gems"-a small works show featuring local paintings, pottery, glass, and jewelry ideal for holiday gift giving. On Friday and Saturday, November 1st and 2nd, celebrate the Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) and learn about this fascinating and life-affirming tradition with Casa Guanajuato Kennett Square at the American Legion. Highlights include a walking tour, music, food, art exhibitions, and workshops. On Saturday, November 2nd, worKS Kennett Square invites you to join the celebration for the opening of Natale Caccamo's new show "Effervescence." Then on Sunday, November 3rd, start your holiday shopping as the roving, curated Clover Market returns to Kennett Square. Find over 100 vendors of unique, handcrafted artisan goods and fun vintage items as well as live music, food trucks, and face painting (600 South Broad Street, 10am to 4pm).

If you're not participating in the Mushroom Cap Half Marathon this Saturday, November 2nd, be sure to come out to cheer on the runners! There's still time to register for the Kennett Brewing Company Harvest 5K Run/1.5 Mile Family Walk on Saturday, November 16th in Anson B. Nixon Park to benefit the Kennett Food Cupboard. Enjoy a beautiful day in the park and support a great cause!

Mark your calendar for the official start of the holiday season on Friday, November 29th, with the Holiday Light Parade and town tree lighting. Kennett Square loves a parade, and the more the merrier! Click here for more information about participating in the parade that's become a beloved holiday tradition.

Historic Kennett Square is proud of Kennett Square's Best of Philly award for Best Suburban Shopping Destination-a well-deserved recogni tion of all of our unique local small businesses on State Street and beyond. This month we're excited to share the story of another one of our dynamic and innovative merchants. Meet Tara Dugan of worKS Kennett Square and learn more about her "mission critical" responsibility, running a small business that supports 25 local families.

As you give thanks this season and start your holiday shopping, remember to think before you click, enjoy all our small town has to offer, and give your independent, locally owned small businesses and restaurants a chance to delight you. #loveitlikealocal #shopKSQ #deliciousKSQ

See you around the Square.
