Indian alumni awarded for excellence in engineering and architecture

Three Indian alumni were among the 16 recipients honored with the 2021 Excellence in Engineering and Architecture Alumni Awards in the categories of academic excellence, career achievement, and entrepreneurship and innovation. The honors recognize exceptional alumni from across the College of Engineering who have achieved distinction in their fields or through their extraordinary service contributions since graduating from Ohio State.

Deepak Menon

"The biggest takeaway from my time at Ohio State was a growth mindset, being able to adapt and navigate change," explains alumnus Deepak Menon (MFA ’01, Knowlton School of Architecture), a partner director at Microsoft, in Hyderabad, India.

Fisher and Mahindra renew MOU

The Fisher College of Business and Mahindra Institute of Quality (MIQ) in Mumbai, India have renewed a memorandum of understanding. With this partnership Fisher faculty provide evaluation and feedback for two key programs at MIQ, the Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Management and in Quality Management. Fisher faculty will also serve as guest instructors in the programs. The renewal will be in effect through 2024.

International alumni club leaders connect

Over 30 international alumni club leaders from around the globe met virtually on January 20 to network, brainstorm and celebrate the Buckeye community. Club representatives from Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates joined hosts Daniel Rodriguez, regional engagement officer, The Ohio State University Alumni Association, and Angha Childress, executive director, international advancement, Office of Advancement, for the first-of-its-kind meetup.

Virtual Global Teaching and Learning Grant Competition

Proposals are sought for initiating new and diverse global teaching Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) and Virtual Exchange initiatives to internationalize student learning experiences and the development of global competencies. Both virtual courses and component development will be accepted, and a stipend will be awarded based on merit. The grant competition is supported by the Office of International Affairs, the Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning, and the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation. Application deadline is March 15.

Ohio State supports Intel investment in manufacturing, higher education and leading-edge research

Ohio State joined institutions of higher education across the state to support Intel’s recent landmark investment in Ohio. The investment will help boost production to meet the surging demand for advanced semiconductors and support a new generation of innovation from Intel and its customers. The semiconductor factory will bring a new industry at scale for Ohio and the Midwest.
