Reverend Laurence Connelly ‘52
January 2, 1933 - September 19, 2020
Reverend Laurence Connelly ’52 passed away on September 19 at age 87. He was a Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.

"Larry was a leader his entire life, including as a brother Sig," said Bobby Stillwell ’56. "He was a wonderful, caring friend to many and a dedicated Man of God. He leaves the legacy of a life well-lived."

Reverend Connelly attended the University of Texas at Austin and was an active member of the Tau Chapter. In 1954, he entered St. Mary’s Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood on May 30, 1959 in Galveston.

"Father Larry loved the whole Kappa Sigma package," said pledge brother Joe Russo ’52. "Outstanding and athletic, he was both a great guy and a great competitor. He would speak out without fear. Lots of great memories that will not be forgotten."

"Larry," Joe added, "be sure to tell Dan Burck, Preston Moore, George Alcorn, Pete Gardere, and Alex Vaught to save the rest of us a place next to you. And be ready to pledge us when we come up. Godspeed."
