MINISTER'S MESSAGE
Beloveds,

In these months we focus on being “Pulled by a Vision” and then a “Pause for Guidance”. Ever gotten a big idea and then wanted to just plow ahead, all engines on full? In our culture we are focused on getting things done. Success means we have accomplished things, big things, and have something we can point to as proof. What if there’s more Good than that available to us, but we will need to be patient and let it manifest?

In nature, a seed doesn’t fall on the ground one day and become a ponderosa pine the next. There is a maturation process and a journey to be experienced. As we dive deeper into our spiritual journey, in which our Soul remembers its perfection, we find the same dynamic. How many times have we read or been told that in spirituality, the journey is what’s important and the destination is infinite?

This summer let’s allow Spirit to unfold on Its own time (after all, Spirit has an eternity of it) and not ask ourselves to reach nirvana in a weekend. We are already Christed Beings, even if we are not conscious of it. We don’t need to strive to earn God’s approval, or rush to prove ourselves. Let’s allow ourselves the indulgence of enjoying the journey as much as the view of the Vision of our lives, trusting that our Souls know where they are going and how to get there.

Board Report
Welcome all!

Summer is here, so keep cool and stay healthy. Drink lots of water and be mindful of the needs of our furry friends.

We celebrate the coming of summer as we welcome new and old members into our fully open Center and continue to stream Sunday services. In the Sanctuary and online, we embrace you all as we bask in the summer sun. Ernest Holmes says “We are born of eternal day, and the Spiritual Sun shall never set upon the glory of the soul”. SOM p 388.

Have a glorious and safe 4th of July. Ernest Holmes: “We must continually remind ourselves of the power of the Word, and of our ability to use it… Truth produces freedom because Truth is freedom.” SOM p 189. Let us remember our history as we move forward into our future, into a world that works for everyone.

Enjoy this wonderful summer, and may you live in the sun of our philosophy and our teachings.

Blessings,

Kyra Molitor (Board President)
SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT
GOD IN MY GARDEN
Diane Gesell, RScP
Oh, sweet summer, busy months for those of us who love playing in the dirt. I see gardening as a metaphor to spirituality. Affirmative prayers articulate our needs/questions, accept that we are part of the Divine flow and release them for that Great Love to act upon. With gardening, it is first the physical work of preparing the soil which includes amending it with the composted deposits of our bovine friends. We next sow the seeds that hold within the diversity of their forms that which will be future flowers and fruits.

Spirit flows through our beings just as we flow water through our gardens. We daily care for our gardens like we practice and embrace our spiritual lives with meditating, reading, journaling, praying, attending classes and services and recognizing our role in our community, our world.  Like garden weeds, we may be faced with ill health, financial worries, unkind words or actions. So we dig deeper into our faith to acknowledge the ‘weed’, recognize what we might learn from it and take needed actions. The growth in our vegetable and flower gardens is assisted by pulling the weeds just as we release something that no longer serves us.   In addition to our individual spiritual practices, a visit with one of our practitioners or to a health professional may be required. It could also be an opportunity to become more engaged and enjoy the companionship, enrichment and support of one of CSLP’s circles. Our gardens are aided in growth by companion planting of basil next to tomatoes to repel horn worms; garlic and marigolds planted among vegetable plants to discourage leaf-eating beetles and other buggy beasties.

As in our spiritual life, results are not always immediate. When I look at the tall, spikey gladiolus forming their long strand of blossoms, I’m tempted to pull at one of the tight leaves and peek at the color waiting to be revealed. Doing so would be interfering and may even damage what will be exquisite florets if only I allow it to blossom in its own time. We accomplish this in our prayers by giving up control of the results, by surrendering to a greater power when we release our prayers. While spirituality is intangible we see Its effects in answered prayers. Our gardening rewards us more tangibly in the colorful blooms of a gladiolus and the smooth, slender fruits of the bean plant.

The CSL Global themes offer an opportunity to revisit and embrace our spiritual principles in July. In August we are invited to pause for guidance, rest and rejuvenation. We will also be harvesting the bounty of our gardening efforts and allowing the soil to rest so it may once again become the creative medium for growth. We celebrate our spirituality and look forward to what is next ours to do.

Namasté

Prayer and Meditation Groups
Rev. Kathleen is offering a chance to develop a spiritual practice called Visioning. This is a form of deep listening in which one catches a higher vision for his or her life. As a shared practice, it leads to deep change, both in one’s world view and one’s activity. This practice is inspired by the Life Visioning Process introduced by Rev. Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith (book available on Amazon). Each group will be limited to 12 people and will begin online. Eventually, each group will be self-led and other groups may start in a time and place that works for the members.
Saturday option: from 9 am to 10:30 am, the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month.
Monday option: from 5:30 pm to 7 pm, the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.
Please note: you will be allowed into the room by the moderator at the beginning of the meeting ONLY if you have reserved your place with Rev. Kathleen. This keeps the meeting from being zoom bombed and creates a safe environment.
If you are interested in joining others online for a daily spiritual practice,
please check out www.tucsoncsl.org and www.newvisioncsl.org for
their morning prayer groups.

VISITATION MINISTRY
During the month of May, 2021, six (6) team members reported visiting (actual or telephone calls) 15 separate individuals. 52 visits were reported. The team members reported participating in one (1) Virtual Prayer Circle for an individual undergoing a medical procedure.
Would you like a visit, telephone visit, telephone call, Prayer Circle or Virtual Prayer Circle by the Visitation Team for yourself or another? A Virtual Prayer Circle is performed when it is impractical to be at the hospital. A Virtual Prayer Circle is where each member goes into prayer at a designated time, wherever they are, for an individual undergoing a medical procedure. If this is for you, please contact the Pastoral Care Coordinator, David Sharer RScP at (928) 771 2791. The team loves to serve by making visits and praying with you.

ERNEST HOLMES QUOTES

“When, through intuition, faith finds its proper place under Divine Law, there are no limitations, and what are called miraculous results follow.”

“A steadfast determination to attain some purpose, the letting go of all that opposes it, a complete reliance upon the Law of Good, and an unqualified trust in Spirit-this is real prayer.”

“There, through the door of our own thought, we enter into the Universal Consciousness, into a complete realization of life and truth, of love and beauty; and as we sit in the silence of our own souls and listen, it will be the greatest thing we will ever do.”
