Thanksgiving Break
We know that many of you are planning to stay on campus for the Thanksgiving Holiday. If you are one of those students, we invite you to participate in some of our community activities that are planned throughout the weekend! These events have been carefully crafted to be both fun and safe.

Additionally, if you have not read the Thanksgiving Break Updates email from Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Robert M. Wild, we encourage you to do so.
What's Going On This Month
1) Election Day

Election Day is on November 3rd! Check out the Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement to learn more about polling places and other information.

2) Coffee with Callista (Director for Religious, Spiritual, and Ethical Life)

This is an opportunity for students to stop by and talk through whatever is on their minds, religious or not, and connect with other students.
  •  Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. CST via Zoom

Callista is also available for 1-1 Zoom or phone chats at other times. Schedule an appointment by emailing Callista. Callista is a WashU confidential resource for relationship & sexual violence.
3) RSVP Center: Beyond Sex Ed
Beyond Sex Ed is a virtual program presented by the Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention (RSVP) Center for new students. This program will include discussions of consent, establishing your sexual citizenship, and aspects of campus culture and relationship and sexual violence prevention. It is strongly encouraged that first-year students attend this program. Register and learn more through Qualtrics.

If you have questions or concerns, please email Hannah Jayne or email Emily Mattson.

4) Post-Election Resources

The Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement has gathered post-election resources and events available to all WashU students. In addition, the Center for Diversity and Inclusion will host a series entitled Gathering Spaces. Gathering Spaces are dedicated open spaces for Washington University students to collectively process, reflect, and make meaning of the results from Election 2020.

5) Emerging Leaders Program
The Emerging Leaders program will be executed virtually this academic year. These live workshops are open to all first-year students and will be held twice a month (occurring November through February). Content will cover values-based leadership, identity development, leadership skills, and how to make change on campus, along with other topics.

You can find the schedule for each of these workshops on WUGO by searching “Emerging Leaders." If you have further questions about Emerging Leaders 2020, please email Hope Young.
